JinkoPower announces Q3/2020 Operational Data for PV plants: Releasing its operating data for photovoltaic power stations  in the first three quarters of 2020, JinkoPower said that its centralized power plants of 2,266 MW generated a total of 2.1 TWh of electricity, while distributed systems added up to 3,067 MW. Earlier in the year, JinkoPower had been picked up by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) as one of the partners for its 2 GW Al Dhafra Solar PV Independent Power Producer (IPP) project to be built in Abu Dhabi (see 2 GW Abu Dhabi Solar Project Partners Announced)

Kibing Group to set up 1200 t/d PV high-transparent backsheet facility: Solar glass manufacturer Kibing Group will be investing RMB 1.373 billion ($0.21 billion) to build a 1200 tons per day PV high-transparent backsheet material factory in the New Material Industrial Park of Keqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang province. Earlier in the year, the group had announced its plans to construct a PV module high transparent substrate material production line in the Economic Development Zone of Zixing city in Hunan province with an annual production capacity of 1,200 tons per day (see China PV News Snippets: Canadian, JA, Risen, Kibing) 

Arctech Solar to expand solar tracker facility: Chinese tracker and mounting systems company Arctech Solar has entered into an investment agreement with the People's Government of Fanchang District, Wuhu City, where it will expand its solar tracker production facility. The company will use its own or self-raised funds to build a new energy equipment intelligent manufacturing project, where it will carry out research and development, production and sales of solar trackers. The total investment is expected to be RMB 1 billion ($0.15 billion). Construction is scheduled to be completed within 18 months. In August, Arctech Solar had launched its Smart Rooftop II BIPV solution, targeting commercial and industrial rooftop systems to improve waterproofing and overall product performance (see China PV News Snippets: Sungrow, Arctech Solar)

 Talesun Solar and Bluesun Solar sign strategic agreement: After in-depth discussions on the current status and future development of the international photovoltaic industry, Chinese cell and solar module maker Talesun Solar and solar panel manufacturer Bluesun Solar Co., Ltd. signed a 200 MW Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The cooperation will see both the companies focusing on the joint development of domestic and foreign photovoltaic markets, involving component supply and intelligent operation and maintenance in the US and Europe. They will also focus on technological innovation, aiming to integrate the resource advantages of both parties.

China's newly installed PV to reach around 55 GW in 2021: Addressing the 15th Asian Photovoltaic Innovation and Cooperation Forum, Tao Ye, Deputy Director of Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission said, "The proportion of non-fossil energy sources during the 14th Five-Year Plan period will be between 18% to 18.5%. However, in light of the current new demands, the proportion must be adjusted to at least 19% and to achieve this, the combined installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic during the period has to reach a scale of 90 to 100 GW." By end of September, the newly installed photovoltaic capacity year to date reached 18.7 GW (see China Installed 18.7 GW New Solar In 9M/2020). Tao emphasized that the newly added scale of photovoltaic and wind power in 2021 will not be less than 80 GW and the scale of photovoltaic parity projects will be around 55 GW. The overall development scale, he predicted, may not be less than 60 GW, but the specific number of projects that can be implemented still depends on the entire industry chain developments and the price trend of photovoltaic modules.
