Phase III of LONGi 10 GW silicon rod project begins: The third phase of Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi's 10 GW high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon ingot production project in Lijiang has now officially begun, as per a report by Photovoltaic Network News. The investment agreement was signed in Sept. 2020 (see LONGi Expanding Silicon Rod & Wafer Production Capacity). The total investment of the project is estimated to be about RMB 2.5 billion ($0.38 billion). After completion of the LONGi Phase III project, its Lijiang City  facility will have a monocrystalline silicon ingot production capacity of 30 GW.

PV glass price drops by 32% while silicon prices rises to RMB 130/kg: In the latest photovoltaic supply chain prices released by PVInfoLink, the price of photovoltaic glass has dropped significantly, attracting a lot of attention. Compared with the beginning of the year, the average price of 3.2 mm-coated photovoltaic glass decreased by RMB 15 /m2 ($2.28/m2), a dip of 35%, while the average price of 2.0 mm-coated solar glass decreased by RMB 13 yuan/m2 ($1.98/m2), equal to a 37% drop. On the other hand, polysilicon prices continued to rise this week, with the price in China for mono-quality silicon material up by 3.5% and now ranging between RMB 125 to 135/kg ($19.02 to $20.54/kg), and the average transaction price at RMB 131.8/kg ($20.05/kg).
