China PV News Snippets: Risen Energy, Flat Glass

• Risen Energy will be launching a new solar module product claiming it to have between 550 W to 660 W output on July 23, 2020
• Risen Energy has also secured an EPC and a module supply contract for a 250 MW PV facility of Xinghai Group in Vietnam

Risen Energy getting ready for 600 W modules: After Trina Solar launched its Vertex solar module claiming up to 600 W output, Risen Energy is now set to launch its own product claiming between 550 W to 660 W output on July 23, 2020. This new module, the company says as per local media, can greatly lower the cost of tracking and bracket as well as the bring down overall initial investment of the tracking system. Risen Energy will present and participate in an Exec Panel at the 500 W+ Solar Module Virtual Conference of TaiyangNews on July 29 and July 30, 2020. 250 MW EPC contract in Vietnam for Chinese company: In another news from Risen Energy, the company has secured an EPC contract in Vietnam for a 250 MW solar project in Loc Ninh region. It is also supplying its high efficiency Jaeger solar modules for the project which it claims is one of the largest privately-funded EPC projects globally. It expects to complete module shipments by December 2020. The 250 MW facility is being developed by Xinghai Group.

Flat Glass raising funds for production expansion: Flat Glass Group plans to invest in expanding its annual production capacity under phase II with 750,000 tons of glass for solar PV modules. The management said total funds raised through a non-public offering will not exceed RMB 2.5 billion. Proceeds will also be invested in annual output of 42 million m2 of its PV back glass project and for supplementary working capital, as per local media.

Solar power consumption grew in H1/2020: As per the National Energy Administration (NEA), the China's installed power generation capacity of 6,000 kW and above increased by 5.3% YoY during H1/2020, and the consumption of clean energy continued to rise. Chinese solar PV power utilization rate reached 97.9%, going up by 0.3 percentage points annually, while wind power utilization rate went up by 0.8 percentage points to 96.1%, reported Polaris Power News.
