Trina Solar Vertex n-type 695 modules RETC certified; LONGi Wuhu module facility begins construction; Aiko seals purchase deal with Zhuhai Max; Hunan Huamin signs silicon wafers supply order; Sunpure cleaning robots for AI Shuaibah project; GCL System module capacity to surpass 30 GW; Yorhe Fluid to build 10 GW n-type solar cell facility.

Trina Solar Vertex n-type 695 W modules pass RETC test: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar said via WeChat that its Vertex n-type 695W series modules have passed US renewable energy testing center – RETC's – stringent reliability test. The company added that the modules have performed exceptionally well in a series of tests such as PID, LeTID, DH2000 damp heat, SDML composite load, and TC600 thermal cycle. The RETC test focuses on the production line random selection of test samples and the ability to tighten the sequence. The modules for this test were randomly selected from the n-type modules produced by Trina Solar's Changzhou base.

Construction begins for LONGi's Wuhu module facility: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi's monocrystalline photovoltaic module facility in Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone has begun the second phase of construction, local media reports said. Spread across 823 mu, and with an investment of RMB 8 million, this phase will build a facility with an annual output of 15 GW monocrystalline photovoltaic modules. Production is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2024. The first phase which began construction in June 2022 with an annual production capacity of 10 GW is now in the production stage. Once both the phases are completed, the annual sales revenue will be about RMB 43 billion ($6.13 billion).

Aiko to buy cell production equipment: In an announcement, Chinese solar cell producer Aiko Solar said that it is sealing a purchase agreement with Zhuhai Max for 29 sets of photovoltaic cell production equipment to the tune of RMB 176.2 million ($25.14 million) (tax included). This purchase will enable the company to meet the production requirement of ABC cells and also speed up the construction of its 3.5 GW high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell facility, which is currently in the first phase.

Hunan Huamin signs silicon wafers supply order: High-tech enterprise with two main businesses of new materials and digital technology, Hunan Huamin Holding Group, announced that its holding subsidiary Honsun has signed a monocrystalline silicon wafer sales deal. The name of the company with whom the deal has been signed is yet to be disclosed.  Honsun will be supplying 108 million monocrystalline silicon wafers to the client from 1 May to 31 Dec 2023. The total sales is expected to be about RMB 500 million ($71.3 million). Last December too, Hunan Huamin had sealed ingot/wafer sales deal with Huasun (see China Solar PV News Snippets)

Sunpure to provide PV module cleaning robots to AI Shuaibah project: Over a WeChat communication, manufacturer and seller of PV cleaning robots, Sunpure Technology said that the company and Energy China Group have joined hands to provide 2.1 GW photovoltaic cleaning robots and supporting services for the Saudi AI Shuaibah project. Located in the Al Shubah area of Jeddah, the AI Shuaibah project is by far the largest single photovoltaic power plant in the world with a total installed capacity of 2.6 GW on the AC side. This is supposed to be Sunpure Technology's fifth project in Saudi Arabia.

GCL System Integration module capacity to surpass 30 GW: Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL System integration Technology has said that its module capacity is expected to exceed 30 GW by the end of this year. Updating on its construction status, the company said that the second phase of its Hefei facility and the expansion of Funing 12 GW large-sized module facility have begun (see China Solar PV News Snippets). Also Phase I of the 10 GW TOPCon cell facility in Wuhu, whose construction had started end of 2022, is expected to be commissioned by July 2023.

Yorhe Fluid Intelligent Control to build 10 GW n-type solar cell facility: China headquartered professional brass ball valve producer, Yorhe Fluid Intelligent Control, announced that it will be building a 10 GW n-type solar cell facility in Taixing Jiangsu. The facility will be built in 2 phases – the first phase will be that of 4 GW and the second of 6 GW. Earlier, the company had shared its plans of expanding its solar cell capacity from 1 GW to 2 GW by the end of 2023, and to touch 5 GW by 2024, and 10 GW by 2025.
