JinkoSolar awarded Zero Carbon Factory certification; RoboTechnik to supply PV equipment to Tongwei; 3 companies jointly commission facilities in Gaoyou City; SunSync's Phase I of 32 GW cell fab starts production.

JinkoSolar gets Zero Carbon Factory certification: Leading module supplier JinkoSolar has announced that its Sichuan Leshan manufacturing facility has received the "Zero Carbon Factory" certification for its advanced green practices. The "Zero Carbon Factory Evaluation Code" is the world's 1st comprehensive and quantifiable zero carbon factory construction standard and evaluation rules, jointly compiled by more than 20 authoritative organizations, including TÜV Rheinland, and leading companies, and formally filed with the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA). The assessment covers 6 indicators, including infrastructure, intelligent information management system for energy and carbon emissions, energy and resource use, products, greenhouse gas reduction implementation and carbon offset implementation. JinkoSolar claims to be the 1st company in the industry to have received this certification.

Recently, the company reported that 60% of its Q3 2023 module shipments comprised n-type modules (see Solid Financial Results For JinkoSolar In Q3/2023).

RoboTechnik signs PV equipment sales contract with Tongwei: High-end automation equipment manufacturer RoboTechnik has announced that it has recently signed a photovoltaic (PV) equipment sales contract with Tongwei Solar. As part of the contract, RoboTechnik will supply industrial automation equipment worth about RMB 141 million ($19.4 million) to Tongwei, accounting for approximately 15.61% of the company's audited operating income in 2022.

3 companies jointly commission diamond wire, silicon wafer and PV cell facilities: Xinrui Optoelectronics, Pengfei New Energy and Meilin New Materials have announced the commissioning of their 10 GW high-efficiency cells, 20 GW silicon wafer, and 50 GW diamond wire, respectively. The joint commissioning ceremony was held in Jiangsu Gaoyou Economic Development Zone. The 3 companies have invested a total of about RMB 12.5 billion ($1.72 billion) in these facilities, which are expected to generate revenues of more than RMB 18.5 billion ($2.54 billion).

Xinrui Optoelectronics, a company affiliated to SUNREV, has invested RMB 10 billion ($1.37 billion) in the 12 GW (10 GW TOPCon + 2 GW HJT) PV cell facility in Gaoyou City, Jiangsu Province. Pengfei New Energy's 20 GW silicon wafer facility was jointly constructed by SUNREV and Shuangliang Group with a total investment of RMB 2 billion ($275 million). The Meilin New Materials 50 GW diamond wire facility took in an investment of approximately RMB 500 million ($68.7 million) and is expected to produce the same amount in annual revenues.

SUNREV rolled out its 1st cell from Xinrui Optoelectronic's Gaoyou City facility in September 2023 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Phase I of SunSync's 32 GW cell fab starts production: SunSync has announced that the 1st phase of its 32 GW high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell facility was put into production. The company will invest a total of RMB 15 billion ($2 billion) in the 926-acre facility to be constructed in 2 phases. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate 5,000 jobs and RMB 30 billion ($4 billion) in annual revenues.
