Trina Solar’s Vertex N modules used in Muguang solar power plant: PV module manufacturer Trina Solar has announced that its Vertex N-type 700 W modules have been used in the Muguang complementary photovoltaic (PV) power station in Chaya County, Tibet. The company says that it has provided 88 MW of modules out of the 200 MW total installed capacity. The recently grid-connected power plant consists of 2 phases. It is said to be the 1st full-capacity grid-connected PV power generation and storage project in the Tibet Autonomous Region this year, with the highest installed capacity. It is expected to produce 340 kWh of power annually, while reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 280,800 tons each year.

Ronma’s Jinhua factory officially commissioned: Solar cell & module manufacturer Ronma Group has announced that it has officially commissioned its Jinhua module factory with the launch of Phase I. The company says that it has invested more than RMB 10.2 billion ($1.42 billion) in the facility spread over 1,022 acres, which will be built in 2 phases. The 1st phase is expected to produce 8 GW of high-efficiency n-type TOPCon cells and 3 GW of modules annually. Ronma says that the Jinhua factory is its 3rd production base in China, after Kunshan and Dongying.

Inner Mongolia Elion DAS high-efficiency PV module facility online: Phase I of the Inner Mongolia Elion DAS 4 GW high-efficiency PV module fab has been officially put into operation. The facility, a joint venture between Elion and DAS Solar, is located in the Ordos High-tech Zone, Inner Mongolia. The 4 GW Phase I will be followed by a 6 GW Phase II, adding up to 10 GW annual capacity when complete. The company says that the high-efficiency dedicated photovoltaic module R&D and production base is being built with a total investment of RMB 5 billion ($697.5 million). The facility, when complete, is expected to generate more than RMB 10 billion ($1.39 billion) in annual sales revenue.

Orisolar claims over 26.1% average mass production efficiency for TOPCon cells: Solar cell and module manufacturer Orisolar has claimed that its Xuzhou base has achieved average mass production efficiency of 26.1% for its n-type TOPCon cells. The company says that it continues to introduce self-developed advanced mass production technologies, including LBSC, S-Emitter, RSDF, et cetera.

Baida’s TOPCon cell fab starts production: Baida Seiko Co. Ltd. has announced that it has officially commissioned the 1st phase of its TOPCon cell fab by rolling out the 1st cell from the facility. Jolywood is supporting Baida with an equity participation in the fab and is also providing technical support services (see China Solar PV News Snippets). The 4.5 GW Phase I will be followed by a 9 GW Phase II, totaling 13.5 GW of annual solar cell capacity when complete.

Longyuan and CHN Energy team up to form JV: China Longyuan Power Group has announced that it has signed an agreement with CHN Energy Group to form a joint venture (JV), tentatively named Guoneng Badain Jaran (Gansu) Energy Development and Investment Co., Ltd. Longyuan will invest RMB 1.53 billion ($213.4 million) for a 51% stake in the JV, which plans to develop the 11 GW Badain Jaran (Gansu) Desert Base projects, including peak load regulation of thermal power, energy storage and solar thermal projects.
