JA Solar wins 1.5 GW module supply bid from POWERCHINA: Vertically integrated solar module manufacturer JA Solar has announced that it has signed a contract with POWERCHINA for the 2nd batch of centralized procurement in Q3 2023. The procurement project involves a total of 7GW of solar PV modules, with JA Solar securing Package 2, totaling 1.5 GW. This collaboration marks the company's 2nd successful bid with POWERCHINA this year, following the earlier 500 MW module contract secured in Q2 2023. Last month, JA Solar announced the commissioning of its 10 GW wafers and 10 GW cells fab at the Shijiazhuang base (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
GOODWE unveils Tianji series photovoltaic sunshade systems, ventures into facade solar PV: PV inverter and ESS manufacturer GOODWE has released the Tianji Series PV sunshade systems. The product is designed for application in building facades and marks the company's official entry into the facade solar PV domain. The company says that the use of external sunshade systems can effectively reduce building energy consumption by approximately 20% to 30%. Representing GOODWE's inaugural facade photovoltaic building material product, the Tianji Series seamlessly integrates building energy efficiency with high-capacity production. The product lineup includes horizontal and vertical sunshade products and louvre sunshade products, offering a comprehensive solution for energy-conscious architecture.
Separately, GOODWE also inaugurated its Sydney City Experience Center, where it showcases PV building materials.
Arctech and Yingli Solar sign strategic cooperation agreement: Solar tracking and installation solutions provider Arctech has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with green energy solutions provider Yingli Solar. As part of the agreement, the companies aim to jointly seek green and low-carbon market prospects, share PV industry development opportunities, and promote the development of global energy towards green, smart, and efficient operation.
Akcome's composite frame products get TÜV SÜD certification: Solar cell and module manufacturer Akcome Technology has announced that it has received TÜV SÜD certification for its composite frame products. The certificate is based on TÜV SÜD's technical specification PPP 58208A, which refers to the requirements of IEC 61730-1:2023 for composite frames. The tests conducted include material mechanical property testing, base material physical property testing, flame retardant grade testing, accelerated aging performance and overall frame performance testing.
Cowin Laser signs an investment agreement with Laifeng County: Laser cutting automation and repair equipment manufacturer Cowin Laser has announced that it has signed an investment agreement with Laifeng County, Hubei Province. According to the agreement, the company will set up the Hubei Cowin Laser Thin Film Solar Intelligent Equipment Settlement Facility in the county.
