Trina Storage ranks among BNEF’s top 5 storage providers & integrators: Trina Solar’s energy storage arm Trina Storage has announced that it has been ranked among the global top 5 storage providers and integrators by BloombergNEF (BNEF). The company says that its solid financial position, high-quality energy storage products and services, and globally stable supply chain capability helped it earn its place in BNEF’s Energy Storage System Cost Survey 2023 report. The BNEF survey covers the energy storage value chain, including energy storage integrators, battery suppliers, power conversion system providers, etc.

Trina Storage has also been named among the Top 10 BESS integrators in China by S&P Global. In addition, the technical due diligence evaluation from DNV further enhances its technical bankability, the company says.

JinkoSolar Vietnam gets approval for 4 GW cell + 3 GW solar module fab: Solar module supplier JinkoSolar has received approval from the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission to build a new 4 GW cell and 3 GW solar module production line in Vietnam. The notice from the commission is valid for 2 years. The facility will be located in Huyện Hải Hà County of Tỉnh Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. The company will invest a total of $294.1976 million in the facility, with a total construction area of 237,500 sq. m., including 89,500 sq. m. for the cell workshop, 55,500 sq. m. for the module workshop, 41,600 sq. m. for warehouses, and 10,000 sq. m. for a wastewater station, among other facilities.

JinkoSolar recently announced its 1st TOPCon technology patent licensing deal with a Top 10 customer (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Xianglu Tungsten plans to set up 30-billion-meter tungsten alloy wire facility: Tungsten miner and supplier Xianglu Tungsten has announced its plans to raise about RMB 840.8871 million ($117.3 million) for the production of ultra-fine tungsten alloy wire for photovoltaics with an annual output of 30 billion meters. The company believes tungsten diamond wire will be an important development in the PV industry.

Yunnan Province announces winners for Zhaotong power generation project: The Energy Bureau of Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, has announced the preferred investment entities for 6 PV power generation projects with a total capacity of 1.055 GW. The notable winners are POWERCHINA with 400 MW, China Three Gorges Group with 300 MW, Zhongchengtou Holdings with 60 MW, and China Datang with 80 MW. A combined capacity of 215 MW, comprising 2 projects, was declared unsuccessful due to insufficient registration.

Hunan Red Sun wins bid for TOPCon cell fabs: New energy product R&D company Hunan Red Sun has announced that it has won bids for TOPCon cell facility orders from a leading PV company. The bid amount is said to be over RMB 200 million ($27.9 million), with orders for dry cleaning equipment totaling nearly RMB 100 million ($14 million). The company says that the wins are a sign of the trust and recognition of Hunan Red Sun from leading customers.
