Trina Solar launches Vertex S+ 450W all-black module: Trina Solar has introduced the Vertex S+ 450W (NEG9R.25) module, targeted at upscale residential rooftops. The module features a full black aesthetic design and advanced technology, while prioritizing reliability and sustainability. The company says that the dual-glass structure ensures durability, while high power output and efficiency optimize energy production. The module measures 1762mm x 1134mm and weighs 21 kg. With degradation rates of 1% for the 1st year and 0.4% annually from 2nd year onwards, it comes with a product warranty of 25 years and a 30-year power warranty.

Risen's HJT Hyper-ion modules outperform PERC in Hainan: Risen Energy gas released empirical data from its Hainan testing base for its HJT Hyper-ion Modules. According to its data from August 2023 to January 2024, the HJT Hyper-ion modules achieved a cumulative power generation of 584.75 Wh/W, outperforming PERC modules by 4.76%. The company says that its monthly cumulative power generation per watt reached 65.05 Wh/W even with low irradiance levels in December 2023, surpassing PERC by 4.57%.

Recently, Risen Energy had claimed that its HJT Hyper-ion modules generate up to 6.86% higher power compared to PERC modules, as tested at 2 testing bases in Hainan and Yinchuan (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Aiko Solar wins overseas orders for 2 GW ABC modules: Aiko Solar has announced that it has received ABC module orders worth 2 GW from 4 PV distributors in Australia – Solar Juice, AC Solar Warehouse, Sol Distribution and Tradezone. These agreements were signed at the Australian Smart Energy Exhibition and Forum held at the Sydney International Convention Center. As part of the contracts, Aiko Solar will deliver 2 GW ABC modules to the 4 distributors over 3 years. The 4 companies will jointly promote the expansion and application of N-type ABC products in the Australian market.

Last month, Aiko Solar reported achieving 25.15% conversion efficiency for its ABC modules (see Aiko Solar Announces New World Record Efficiency).

GCL Technology forecasts 2023 net profit of RMB 2.3B to RMB 2.6B: Leading polysilicon supplier GCL Technology forecasts a net profit of RMB 2.3 billion to RMB 2.6 billion for FY2023. This is a decrease of 84% to 86% Year-on-Year (YoY). The company cites the sharp YoY decline in average market selling price of polysilicon and silicon wafers, the proposed dividend distribution and capital reduction by an associated company, and a property, plant and equipment impairment as the reasons behind the decline in net profits.

Providing an update on its business, the company said that the turbidity issue mentioned in its H1 2023 interim report has been addressed. The turbidity of granular silicon has been fully controlled within 120 NTU (turbidity unit, which measures the impurity content of silicon materials), and the proportion of granular silicon products below 100 NTU is 70%.

Sunrise New Energy to invest in 1 GW BIPV module fab: Sunrise New Energy has announced its plans to raise RMB 240 million ($ 33.37 million) through a revised proposal for private placement of its A-shares. It plans to invest part of the proceeds – RMB 118 million ($16.41 million) – in a 1 GW BIPV module manufacturing facility to be built for a total investment of RMB 138.07 million ($19.20 million). The rest of the proceeds will be used for an energy storage integration and distributed PV project in He County, supplementary working capital and debt repayments.

Autowell to set up lithium battery & PV equipment R&D Center in Wuxi City: The Wuxi City's Administrative Approval Bureau announced two pre-construction project planning permits for Autowell. According to the announcements, Autowell will construct a high-end intelligent equipment smart factory in Wuxi City's High-tech Zone, with a construction area of about 51,525 sq.m. A lithium battery and PV equipment manufacturing and R&D center is set to come up adjacent to it, with a 1,599-set annual capacity, and a planned construction land area of about 76,376.1 sq. m.

Last month, Autowell won a RMB 270 million ($37.53 million) order from LONGi for solar module manufacturing equipment (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
