DKEM's Fangqing Guo to present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference; Huasun's HJT cells hit 26.5% efficiency; GCL-Si reports positive FY2023 results; JA Solar partners with Exel Solar; Risen's FY2023 revenue up over 20%; Winhitech's HJT modules deliver up to 4% power gain vs TOPCon.
DKEM's Fangqing Guo to present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference: Fangqing Guo, New Technology Development Director at DKEM, will be participating in the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Cell & Module Production Equipment & Processing Materials. He will be giving his insights into the topic: Innovative Metallization Pastes Enabling TOPCon Technology Upgrade.
The 2-day Conference will discuss updates related to module-level advancements alongside the established focus on cell-level innovations. It is scheduled to take place on May 7-8, 2024 from 09:30 to 13:30 CEST. For free registration, click here.
Huasun's mass-produced HJT cells achieve 26.5% efficiency: Huasun Energy has announced that its G12R and G12 heterojunction (HJT) solar cells have achieved average efficiencies of 26.01% and 26.15%. The peak efficiencies for these mass-produced cells reached 26.41% and 26.50%, respectively. The company attributes this achievement to 'state-of-the-art texturing processes, HJT 3.0 bifacial microcrystalline technology, and the adoption of efficient yet cost-effective target materials.' The cells utilize the company's zero busbar (0BB) module technology and silver-coated copper paste with low silver content. The company further says that the power output of its mass-produced 210R-132 dual-glass HJT modules has reached over 640 W.
Huasun recently unveiled its 0BB high-power HJT modules (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
GCL-Si FY2023 solar cell and module shipments up 147.5% YoY: GCL-Si has released its financial results for 2023, reporting a 91.15% Year-over-Year (YoY) increase in revenues to RMB 15.97 billion ($2.218 billion). Its net profit of RMB 1.577 billion ($219.03 million) was up 142.24% YoY. The company's total cell and module shipments reached 16.42 GW for the year, increasing 147.50% YoY. As of the end of 2023, the company's module production capacity was 30GW. For 2024, GCL forecasts an over 50% increase in revenue, a cell production capacity of 12 GW, and over 3.5 GW in integrated project development, testing, and O&M services.
JA Solar solidifies Exel Solar partnership: JA Solar has announced that it has entered into a 200 MW PV module distribution agreement with the Mexican distributor Exel Solar. The 2 companies say that they seek to enhance their collaboration to align with Mexico's carbon emission reduction goals for 2030. JA Solar entered the Mexico market in 2016, while Exel Solar has a decade of experience in PV sales in the country.
Earlier this month, JA Solar announced that it has formally committed to joining the 'Forward Faster' initiative launched by UNGC (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Risen Energy reports over 20% jump in FY2023 revenues: Risen Energy has released its financial results for FY2023, reporting a 20.22% YoY increase in revenues to RMB 35.327 billion ($4.878 billion). For the year, the company reported a net profit of RMB 1.363 billion ($188.225 million), up 45.81% YoY. Its module shipments for the year totaled 18.99 GW, including 8.84 GW of modules shipped overseas. The company attributes its strong performance to rapid developments in the industry, strong global demand and an increase in its production capacity.
Winhitech's HJT modules deliver up to 4% more power vs. TOPCon: Releasing the outdoor test results from its CPVT Yinchuan site for Q1 2024, HJT module manufacturer Winhitech has claimed that its HJT modules deliver up to 4% power gain over TOPCon. The project consists of Winhitech's 210HJT-66 modules and TOPCon modules from a leading PV company. These modules are installed at a 40° tilt and a height of 1 m on standard sandy soil ground. According to data provided by the National Photovoltaic Quality Testing Center (CPVT), the single-watt power generation Winhitech's HJT showed a cumulative gain of 2.14% vs. TOPCon. This achievement was in conditions with an average temperature of 10.8°C. The company says that it expects the cumulative gain to exceed 4% with rising temperatures.
