JTPV Launches MoNo 2 Series TOPCon Cell & More From LONGi, Sungrow, JinkoSolar, Idealdeposition

JTPV launches MoNo 2 series TOPCon cell; LONGi’s silicon-perovskite tandem cell achieves 34.6% efficiency; Sungrow releases iSolarSim simulation software; Multiple certifications for JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo; Idealdeposition launches new-gen spatial domain plate-type iALD equipment.

JTPV launches MoNo 2 series TOPCon cell at SNEC 2024: Drinda Corporation subsidiary JTPV has launched its new MoNo 2 series n-type TOPCon cell products at SNEC 2024. Following the success of the MoNo 1 series launched last year, MoNo 2 includes advanced technologies like J-HEP half-cut edge passivation and J-WBSF wave back surface field, enhancing cell passivation and bifaciality. These improvements increase module power by over 6 W and bifaciality to 90%. The half-cell design reduces fragmentation and EL defects, improving overall efficiency. For standard 72-cell 182-format modules, power output can reach 585-600 W.

LONGi’s crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cell achieves 34.6% efficiency: At SNEC 2024, LONGi announced that its crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cell has achieved a conversion efficiency of 34.6%. The company claims certification for this achievement from ESTI. In November 2023, LONGi had achieved 33.9% efficiency for tandem cells, which it says it was able to break through with ‘in-depth optimizations in many aspects.’ The company cites optimizing the electron transport layer thin film deposition process, introducing high-efficiency defect passivation materials, and designing and developing high-quality interface passivation structures as some of these aspects.

At the event, LONGi also released the Hi-MO X6 villa modules (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Sungrow releases iSolarSim simulation software: During the recently held SNEC2024, Sungrow released the iSolarSim photovoltaic (PV) power generation simulation software. This simulation software features accurate simulation, fast evaluation, simple operation and full scenarios, which the company says improves simulation efficiency by more than 100 times and fills the gap in Chinese simulation software. It claims iSolarSim improves evaluation accuracy by more than 2% by conducting full-factor coupling and precise simulation of PV power stations and surrounding geographic information. It goes on further to say that the simulation of home and C&I PV takes only 10 seconds, while the simulation for a 100 MW mountain PV plant takes only 10 minutes. With optimal simulation and design results available in one click, the company has also announced that the software will be free for all.

Last month, Central New Energy and Sungrow jointly established a PV technology joint innovation laboratory (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Multiple certifications for JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo series modules: Solar module maker JinkoSolar has announced that its 3 products from its Tiger Neo module series have received multiple certifications from TÜV SÜD, DEKRA, UL Solutions, and CQC at SNEC 2024. The products are 2,000 V system high-voltage modules, conventional single-glass and double-glass modules, and PV curtain wall products. The 2000 V system high-voltage modules received the V-Mark market promotion verification from UL, marking JinkoSolar’s advancement from 1,500 V to 2,000 V. Tiger Neo modules have been CB certified by DEKRA and have also received CQC certification from China Quality Center. JinkoSolar’s curtain wall products were part of the first batch of new standard certification certificates from TÜV SÜD. The company says these certifications are a testament to its products’ reliability and safety.

Idealdeposition launches new-gen spatial domain plate-type iALD equipment: PV production equipment supplier Idealdeposition launched a new generation of spatial domain plate-type iALD equipment at SNEC 2024. The company says the iALD-V equipment incorporates many improvements and breakthroughs and has been specially adapted to the TOPCon process. The company says the equipment offers significant efficiency advantages for large-size cell passivation and yield, greatly improving production capacity and reducing maintenance costs. Production capacity for full cells is said to have increased by 37% for 182 mm cells, 45% for 210 mm cells, while showing no declines in half-cut cell production capacity. Other advantages include a wide processing window, wraparound of less than 0.5 mm for all cell sizes, fragmentation rate of ≤0.01%, 56% shortening of single maintenance time and a cycle of more than 33 days, and a 30% reduction in maintenance costs.
