Huasun Energy wins multiple prestigious awards and certifications at SNEC 2024: At SNEC 2024, Huasun Energy, a leader in heterojunction (HJT) technology, received the prestigious Terawatt Diamond Award for its contributions to large-scale HJT mass production. The award recognizes Huasun’s advancements in technology, production capacity, and market performance. Additionally, Huasun received triple recognition from China Testing & Certification International Group Co., Ltd. (CTC) for environmental compliance and product quality. Huasun was also honored as a Top Performer by Kiwa PV Evolution Labs (Kiwa PVEL) for its Himalayan G12 Series HJT modules. The China Photovoltaic Testing Center (CPVT) awarded product certificates for Huasun’s Himalayan V-ocean modules, and TÜV SÜD granted Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certifications for its Himalaya G12 and G10 HJT modules. The company says these awards and certificates highlight its commitment to green manufacturing, technological innovation, and sustainable development in the PV industry.

At the event, TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela interviewed Huasun Chairman & CEO, Jimmy Xu (see SNEC 2024 Exclusive: Huasun Executive Interview).

Dr. Xixiang Xu of LONGi wins William R. Cherry Award: Dr. Xixiang Xu, Chief Scientist of LONGi and Vice President of the LONGi Central Research Institute, has received the William R. Cherry Award for his contributions to the photovoltaic field. Named after the founder of the photovoltaic industry, the award known as the “Nobel Prize in the photovoltaic industry” was presented at the 52nd IEEE PVSC Conference. Dr. Xu is said to be the first Chinese scientist to receive this award. The company says that this award is an “affirmation of the work done by the LONGi R&D team and the LONGi Central Research Institute” over the past couple of years. Dr. Xu’s research and development results have been published in international journals such as Nature and Nature Energy. LONGi says he led the team to actively build an “industry-university-research” platform and collaborated with many domestic and foreign universities, research institutions, and upstream and downstream partners.

LONGi recently announced that its silicon-perovskite tandem cell achieved a maximum efficiency of 34.6% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Drinda’s 10 GW PV cell production plans for Oman: JTPV’s parent company Drinda has announced that it has signed an agreement with the Oman Investment Authority. According to this agreement, Drinda plans to invest $700 million (RMB 5.08 billion) in the construction of a 10 GW annual capacity high-efficiency PV cell manufacturing facility in Oman. It plans to construct the facility in 2 phases of 5 GW each.

Last month, Drinda Corporation received approval to list its shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Sunpure Technology launches distributed cleaning robot Mars: PV cleaning robot manufacturer Sunpure Technology has launched Mars, a distributed PV cleaning robot, at SNEC 2024. Mars, a fully automatic unmanned cleaning robot, is equipped with centimeter-level navigation and positioning technology, helping it achieve autonomous decision-making and full coverage path planning. In terms of safety and reliability, Mars features IP65+C4 high protection and anti-corrosion grade, helping it tackle severe outdoor weather. It is also equipped with high-precision ranging sensors that can identify the edge of modules, achieve 360° anti-fall and anti-theft warning, and ensure the safety of the robot. With a front and rear double roller brush design, the company claims Mars can achieve a cleaning efficiency of up to 99.5%, and can clean up to 1,800 sq. m. per hour. The company also signed 2 procurement contracts at the event.
