JinkoSolar Among Top In IPRdaily Global Solar Cell Patent Ranking & More From Jolywood, Aiko, Hunan Huamin, Shuangliang Group, Gaoce


JinkoSolar granted maximum patents and the company opens new office in Italy; Jolywood delivers modules to Masdar facility; Aiko to invest RMB 2.4 billion in Jinan facility; Hunan Huamin to invest in 24 GW silicon rod and wafer facilities; Construction begins for Shuangliang silicon wafer facility; Gaoce and Yingfa Deyao partner for crystal wafer facility.

JinkoSolar among top in IPRdaily Global Solar Cell Patent ranking: Module supplier JinkoSolar announced that the company has managed to get maximum number of patents as per the latest Global Ranking of Solar Cell Patents (TOP30), released by IPRdaily. The list shows that JinkoSolar has ranked second to LG with 1,101 patents, out of which 666 has valid patent authorization. IPRdaily is a leading global intellectual property technology media focusing on IP services and the IP industry ecosystem. For this ranking, it confined the relevant keywords and classification numbers, sorted out the data on solar cell patents that were applied for and publicly disclosed globally from 1 May 2013, to 30 April 2023 (in combination with the application number), and went on to release the Global Ranking of Solar Cell Patents (TOP30). Meanwhile, JinkoSolar has opened a new office in Padova, Italy, signalling a significant milestone in its global growth strategy. The new office will be powered completely through renewable energy. Jolywood delivers first batch of modules to Masdar Uzbekistan facility: Over a WeChat communication, module manufacturer Jolywood said that it has delivered the first batch of n-type high-efficiency modules to the Uzbekistan facility of Source Trading Company Limited (STC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s future energy company Masdar. With an installed capacity of 1 GW, this facility is considered to be one of the largest photovoltaic facilities in Central Asia, and is quite significant to Jolywood as it marks its penetration into the Central Asian market.

Aiko to invest in cell and module facility in Jinan: Chinese solar cell producer Aiko Solar said in an announcement that it plans to invest in a 30 GW high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell facility and a supporting 30 GW module facility in Jinan City. Towards this, the company plans establish a subsidiary – Aiko Solar (Shandong) –  as the main company for the construction and operation of the facility. The investment in the new company will be RMB 2.4 billion ($0.33 billion), where Aiko will be holding 100% of the shares. Hunan Huamin to invest in 24 GW silicon rod and wafer facilities: High-tech enterprise with two main businesses of new materials and digital technology, Hunan Huamin Holding Group, announced that its holding subsidiary Honsun is planning to invest in the second phase of the 10 GW high-efficiency n-type monocrystalline silicon ingots and silicon wafers facility; and a new 10 GW ingot and 4 GW silicon wafer facility. The investment is expected to be about RMB 4 billion, and the company and Honsun plan to sign the investment agreements with the Dali Prefecture and Xiangyun County.

Construction begins for Shuangliang silicon wafer facility Phase 1: China headquartered solar PV production equipment maker Shuangliang Group, over WeChat, said that it has held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of its 25 GW large-scale photovoltaic silicon wafer facility, Shuangpeng New Energy. While the entire facility is being constructed by Shuangliang Group and its subsidiaries, the first phase is jointly invested by Shuangliang Group and electronic special materials company, Xinlinfei Energy Technology. The facility will produce large-size monocrystalline silicon wafers, photovoltaic modules, photovoltaic packaging materials, and green electricity hydrogen production systems. The total investment is about RMB 2.5 billion ($0.35 billion), and the facility will be officially put into operation by 2024.

Gaoce and Yingfa Deyao partner for crystal wafer facility: Wire cutting machine producer Qingdao Gaoce Technology said via WeChat that the company has signed an agreement with technology promotion and application services, Yingfa Deyao, for the fourth phase of the latter’s 20 GW Czochralski monocrystalline ingot wafer facility. Meanwhile, Yingfa Deyao released a new cell – TOPCon cell series called DeCon, whose mass production efficiency is over 25.5%.
