Autowell Technology to supply large-size CZ pullers to Hoshine: Wuxi Songci Electromechanical, a subsidiary of Automation equipment manufacturer Autowell Technology, recently signed an agreement with Hoshine Silicon Industry to supply large-scale monocrystalline CZ pullers, with a contract value of about RMB 290 million ($40.1 million). In April this year, leading raw silicon manufacturer Hoshine announced its plans to enter solar module manufacturing with the construction of its facility in Urumqi, Xinjiang (see Expanding From Raw Silicon To Modules). The factory is targeted to produce 20 GW each of ingots, monocrystalline wafers, cells and high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) modules per year.

Orisolar commissions n-type TOPCon PV cell fab in Jiangsu Province: Orisolar has rolled out the 1st batch of cells from its newly constructed Peixian facility in Jiangsu Province. The 10 GW n-type TOPCon cell production facility is being constructed in 2 phases, and involves a total investment of RMB 2 billion ($277 million). The company targets a production of 3.5 GW n-type TOPCon high-efficiency solar cells during Phase I, adding another 6.5 GW of capacity as part of Phase II.

Suntech signs PV module procurement agreement with Vena Energy: Module manufacturer Suntech and renewable energy company Vena Energy have signed a PV module procurement agreement for a total capacity of 2.5 GW. This agreement follows a framework agreement signed between Vena Energy, Suntech, US based energy storage firm Powin and Chinese battery cell producer REPT Battero to explore solar PV and storage manufacturing in Indonesia (see Renewable Energy Manufacturing In Indonesia).

CSI Solar rolls out 1st TOPCon cell from Yangzhou facility: Canadian Solar’s subsidiary CSI Solar has rolled out the 1st TOPCon solar cell from its Yangzhou plant. With a total investment of about RMB 15 billion ($2 billion), the facility is planned to be constructed in 3 phases, and is mainly engaged in the research, development, production and sales of high-efficiency photovoltaic wafers, cells, modules, and energy storage systems.
