JinkoSolar wins bid to supply over 2 GW n-type modules to Guohua Capital: Module supplier JinkoSolar has announced it has won an order to supply over 2 GW of its n-type TOPCon Tiger Neo modules from Guohua Investment. Of the 2 GW order, 1 GW will be installed in a 1 GW offshore solar farm, which is claimed to be the largest of its kind in the world. The company attributed the win to the performance of its n-type TOPCon Tiger Neo modules. "We believe that our Tiger Neo utilized highest efficiency N-type TOPCon cells combined with special encapsulation will hone our experience and expertise in offshore PV systems and is well placed to help our clients access this new frontier for solar energy," said Dany Qian, VP of JinkoSolar. With this win, the company has won all the projects in Bid Section 1 and Bid Section 2. In August, JinkoSolar raised its shipment guidance for 2023 (see JinkoSolar Shipped 17.7 GW PV Modules In Q2/2023).

Jolywood provides progress report on multiple projects: n-type solar module manufacturer Jolywood has provided an update on its most important projects. The company's 8 GW 1st phase of its 16 GW high-efficiency monocrystalline cell smart factory has been put into production. The installation of equipment for the 8 GW second phase is underway. The company said that its 200,000-ton industrial silicon and 100,000-ton high-purity polysilicon facilities are complete. Jolywood has also received the Shanxi Province Enterprise Investment Project Registration Certificate for its silicon material facility, which is currently in the third-party evaluation stage. Finally, the company's 250 million m2 general-purpose (transparent, white, black, etc.) photovoltaic backsheets facility has received approval.

PV power station with LONGi modules creates record: The photovoltaic power station located in Tailai County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province is reported to have generated 14.7% more power in 2022 than what it was designed for. Powered by LONGi Hi-MO 4 bifacial PV modules, the 100-MW power station's actual power generation hours were a record 1,779 hours against the design-estimated 1,551 hours. The station was commissioned in 2021.

Huaping Kaitong to build PV module packaging material facility: Huaping Kaitong New Materials has announced that it has signed an agreement to build a PV module packaging material facility in Yixing Economic Development Zone. The company will invest about RMB 2 billion ($274.3 million) in the facility, which will be built in 2 phases. The 1st phase, with an investment of about RMB 800 million ($109.7 million), will consist of 20 PV module packaging material production lines. The 72,000-ton Phase I is expected to come online in April 2024. Phase II, expected to start construction in 2025, will involve an investment of approximately RMB 1.2 billion ($164.6 million). The 2nd phase will consist of 40 production lines, and is expected to produce approximately 144,000 tons annually.

LUXEN to set up high-efficiency cell and module facility: PV module maker LUXEN has announced that it has signed up to build a 5 GW high-efficiency cell and module facility in Suxitong Park. The facility will be focused on R&D, production and sales of TOPCon bifacial multi-busbar high-efficiency modules, with an expected investment of RMB 516 million ($70.8 million). Once operational, it is expected to generate at least RMB 5 billion ($685.8 million) in revenue annually.
