LONGi plans to build 12 GW monocrystalline cell facility: Vertically integrated solar manufacturer LONGi Solar has announced that it will invest RMB 3.915 billion ($537 million) in the construction of a high-efficiency monocrystalline cell fab in Tongchuan. The company expects to start construction on this 12 GW facility in November 2024, to be commissioned a year later in November 2025. The company said that the products produced at the facility will use its internally developed HPBC pro high-efficiency cell technology. At completion, the fab will help the company increase its high-efficiency cell production capacity, its industrial chain, among other things. Recently, LONGi reported strong financial results for H1 2023, while also revealing its technology roadmap (see XBC Is The Future – LONGi).

BAJ Solar rolls off 1st TOPCon high-efficiency cell from Yangzhou base: Solar manufacturing subsidiary of Bangjie, BAJ Solar has rolled off the 1st TOPCon high-efficiency cell from its Yangzhou base. The company says that the production lines at the base are compatible with various square and rectangular cell products based on the 182 and 210 formats. Once the 1st phase of the Yangzhou base is up and running, the company’s TOPCon cell production capacity will reach 10 GW. In July, BAJ Solar had signed a deal with Honsun for the purchase of 87 million wafers (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

China Lesso commissions solar production base in Indonesia: China Lesso Group has announced that it has commissioned its new energy production base in Indonesia. Located in Lot D, Jetenglan Industrial Park, Batu Town, Tammu City, Indonesia, the factory spans about 110,000 m2 and consists of 2 photovoltaic module production lines with a total of 1.2 GW. The factory is equipped with complete automation equipment, production workshops, constant-temperature warehouses, and supporting functional testing centers. The company claims it to be the largest PV module production base in Indonesia. Luo Yibiao, general manager of Indonesia LESSO Solar, said that the Group will continue to expand its 1.2 GW photovoltaic module production line in Indonesia. The company plans to build a PV module production center of about 2.4 GW. In July, Lesso Solar broke ground on its industrial base in Foshan City’s Jiulong Industrial Park (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Gold Stone Energy’s HBC modules hit 24.88% conversion efficiency: Gold Stone Energy has announced that its HBC module’s full area conversion efficiency reached 24.88%. This world record for conversion efficiency of full-size crystalline silicon solar modules has been tested and certified by TUV NORD. The module, jointly developed with National Engineering Research Center for High-efficiency Solar Cell Equipment and Technology, uses high-efficiency HBC cells independently developed by Gold Stone Energy. The module combines scientific and advanced graphic design, low-damage dicing technology, low-temperature interconnection process and BC cell high-density packaging solution.
