Be there to listen to LONGi, Trina, JA Solar, and AESolar at TaiyangNews Conference tomorrow; Astronergy's Anhui TOPCon manufacturing base complete; DAS Solar's Beihai Base Phase I operational; Huasun and CGDG sign strategic cooperation agreement; GCL technology starts operations at Hohhot Base.

Advanced Solar Module Applications Conference on Sep 26: TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Advanced Solar Module Applications – From Agrivoltaics To Floating Solar And Building-Integrated PV will take place on September 26, 2023, from 09:30 to 13:00 CEST. As the field of applications for solar grows quickly, what was new yesterday, might be an emerging segment today, and really big tomorrow. The floating PV segment has developed rapidly into a significant market – and solar modules applied need to have different characteristics than panels applied on power plants in the desert. Though still smaller, the field of agricultural photovoltaics (agri solar) has enormous untapped potential, and the opportunities for building integrated solar seem endless in the long run. In this Conference, TaiyangNews will have leading stakeholders from module manufacturing, research, and deployment discuss the latest developments in this solar segment. Astronergy completes construction on Anhui n-type TOPCon manufacturing base: Solar module manufacturer Astronergy has announced that the 1st phase of its Fengyang Base in Anhui has been officially completed. This is the company's 1st n-type TOPCon intelligent manufacturing base in Anhui. Astronergy says that the base can help achieve its 43 GW n-type TOPCon production capacity target by the end of the year. The 1st phase consists of an 8 GW n-type TOPCon cell production line. As part of the 2nd phase, the company plans to build 12 GW each of n-type cell and module production lines. Recently, Astronergy rolled out the 1st TOPCon cell and module from its Yiwu Base (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DAS Solar puts Beihai Base Phase I into production: Solar module and cell supplier DAS Solar announced that the 1st phase of its 4 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing base in Beihai has started operations. Overall, the company plans to build a 10 GW PV module production line and supporting facilities. Once at full capacity, the Beihai base is expected to generate RMB 10 billion ($1.37 billion) in revenue, while creating around 600 jobs. Last month, DAS Solar introduced a new busbar-free solar module in its n-type DAON 3.0 range (see New Busbar Free Solar Module From China).

Huasun and CGDG sign strategic cooperation agreement: Solar panel manufacturer Huasun has announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Green Development Group (CGDG). According to the agreement, signed at CGDG's green and low-carbon themed event called "Dual Carbon Leading a Green Future", the 2 parties have committed to jointly promote the industrialization and commercialization of PV heterojunction technology (HJT), build a new industrial ecology, and create a green and bright future.

GCL Technology's Hohhot Base starts operations: Leading polysilicon supplier GCL Technology has announced that it has officially started operations of its subsidiary Inner Mongolia Xinhuan Silicon Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Hohhot Base). The base, with 100,000 ton granular silicon production capacity, will supply granular silicon for the production of n-type products. It is the company's 4th granular silicon production base, after Xuzhou, Leshan and Baotou. Once at full capacity, the production base's capacity will reach 120,000 tons, with the company's total capacity hitting 400,000 tons. In August, Canadian Solar announced the groundbreaking for its vertically integrated facility in Hohhot (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
