Elektroprivreda HZHB To Procure Renewable Energy

Bosnia & Herzegovina Utility Launches Call To Buy Power From Renewable Projects On Its Grid
  • EPHZHB is soliciting applications from renewable energy generators for the purchase of clean electricity
  • It wants to procure power from renewable energy projects connected to its own grid
  • The utility has specified BAM 0.25 per kWh as the purchase price for this clean energy

Power generation and distribution utility in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Elektroprivreda Hrvatske Zajednice Herceg Bosne (EPHZHB) has launched a call to procure renewable energy from clean energy producers whose projects are connected to its distribution grid for a purchase price of BAM 0.25 ($0.13) per kWh.

Eligible companies must be in possession of a work permit for the production of electricity and the status of a qualified producer from the Regulatory Commission for Energy in FBiH (FERK).

Such a generator should not be engaged in a contract with the Operator for Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration (OIEiEK) or any other entity on the electricity market. The Mostar headquartered utility will enter into power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners.

EPHZHB launched the call on August 30, 2022. Further details are available on the utility's website.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of 2 entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Republika Srpska. EPHZHB operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In May 2021, it had launched an expression of interest (EOI) to seek solar, wind and hydropower projects to expand its renewable energy portfolio (see Bosnian Utility Seeking Renewable Energy Projects).
