  • Bundesnetzagentur says Germany installed 411.85 MW new solar capacity in October 2021
  • It includes 303.9 MW ground mounted capacity added outside the country's EEG scheme
  • Germany's cumulative installed solar PV capacity till the end of October 2021 reached 59 GW

German Federal Network Agency Bundesnetzagentur calculates 411.85 MW of new solar PV capacity as having registered in the country in the month of October 2021, taking the total installed capacity during the initial 10 months to 4.42 GW.

The 411.85 MW includes 303.9 MW ground mounted capacity that was installed outside the country's EEG scheme. It is slightly higher than 403 MW reported for September 2021, which was 406 MW before the agency updated the numbers (see Germany Installed 406 MW Solar In Sept 2021). But it is slightly lower in a year-to-year comparison –  Germany installed 419.5 MW in the month of October 2020.

With the addition of 4.42 GW during 10M/2021, the country's cumulative installed solar PV capacity increased to 59 GW, after having added 54.6 GW by the end of 2020.

Germany's new incoming government has announced in its coalition agreement a doubling of the current target to 200 GW cumulative deployment for solar PV by 2030 (see 200 GW Solar PV For Germany By 2030).
