German solar developer Anumar GmbH has secured a majority vote in favor of a proposed 300 MW solar park in the country. The City Council of Anklam in Vorpommern-Greifswald district has given the project a go ahead.
According to Anumar, the project would involve land use planning, and the company will now undertake detailed examination of the project and the location. It called the project as currently the ‘largest’ solar power plant planned in Germany.
It will be an unsubsidized project as Anumar’s Managing Director Andreas Klier said he sees this approval from the city council as an ‘advance payment’ and that the company will now present a coherent and binding concept over the next few months.
Anumar is currently developing several solar parks in northern Germany with a total capacity of more than 500 MW and to stay closer to the local stakeholders, it recently opened a regional office in the city of Anklam.
In July 2020, Anumar signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 50 MW project in Germany with Statkraft.
