Heterojunction Solar Technology 2020 Report

TaiyangNews’ 2nd Report on Heterojunction Technology Takes A Close Look At Players & Tools Enabling HJT To Enter Into Volume Production

Heterojunction Solar Technology 2020 Report

In recent times, one can sense that the PV industry is setting itself up for a gigantic expansion. While most expansion plans are still related to PERC, as a technology, heterojunction is increasingly finding a place in future plans of most of the leading PV manufacturers.

And not just limited to making headlines, companies seem to be getting serious about HJT technology. There is a huge degree of variance when it comes to execution – all the way from announcements, groundbreaking, getting permission, starting construction, piloting, to entering commercial scale manufacturing. While 2019 can be considered the year that piqued the industry’s interest in this technology, it looks like 2020 is going to open the doors of commercialization for heterojunction.

The HJT space itself has seen several improvements since we published the 1st edition of our TaiyangNews Report on Heterojunction Technology 2019. In this edition, we once again summarize the important and interesting developments related to techno-commercial aspects of HJT all along the process chain, while also taking a peek into what’s to come.

While several experts are optimistic on the future of HJT, like any technology, it not only faces opportunities but also challenges. Risen Energy CTO Huang Qiang discusses the potential of HJT in an interview in this report.
