Germany based independent solar PV testing and certification firm TÜV SÜD has certified Anhui Huasun Energy’s claim of 23.96% power conversion efficiency for its G12-132 heterojunction (HJT) solar module. It also boasts of a power rating of 744.43 W for the Himalaya panel, calling it a new record for power and efficiency of HJT modules.
To achieve the increased efficiency, Huasun used low-temperature silver paste with high-density, fine-grid printing technology for the cells. It hasn’t yet applied any other metallization or busbar-free technologies, according to a brief statement from the manufacturer.
The Chinese HJT solar PV manufacturer’s G12 modules use bifacial microcrystalline G12-20BB HJT cells, independently produced by the company’s phase IV fab in China’s Xuancheng city. At the module level, the company has used a butyl-based adhesive for sealing and light conversion film encapsulation that help improve their power output.
According to the manufacturer, “After nearly two months of ramping up production capacity, the average efficiency of the highest mass production batches of the Xuancheng Phase 4 cell project has increased to 26.2%, which effectively supports the higher power output of the components and cooperates with the increasingly mature butyl rubber + optical conversion technology.”
