Steel manufacturer wants 250 MW solar: Godawari Power & Ispat Limited, a publicly listed steel manufacturer, has announced plans to have a captive solar power project with a total capacity of 250 MW, after the company's board approved the project. It will be located in Chhattisgarh state's Raigarh district to power its existing plant at Silatra Industrial Area, according to local media. The project is expected to cost the company an investment worth INR 7.5 billion ($103 million).

Jakson Group launches 590W module: Jakson Group has launched solar modules with the highest power rating of 590W. It claims to be the 1st Indian company to launch bifacial and monofacial modules as Helia series with an efficiency of over 21%. It involves half-cut MonoPERC and multi busbar solar cell technology. Jakson Group said the product is available in 120, 132, 144 and 156 half-cut cells configuration.

14.7 MW floating solar project online: Ciel & Terre India has commissioned what it calls as India's largest floating solar power plant. The project has been launched for Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC) Limited at its water storage pond in Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu. Ciel & Terre has deployed 37,632 solar panels with 390W output each. It is expected to produce competitive electricity. The company is working on another big floating solar project in India with 75 MW capacity to come online by October 2021. It is producing Hydrelio floats for these projects at its Kerala located factory with an annual production capacity of 150 MW.

CEL solar cell tender: Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has launched a tender to seek 500,000 multicrystalline solar cells with 5 busbar design and 156.75×156.75 mm dimension. Each cell needs to have anti-reflection coating of uniform silicon nitride (SiN). Thickness of the cell should be 200 ±20 microns. Launched on May 27, 2021, the tender mentions last date of submission as June 2, 2021. Details are available with the company.
