NTPC Invites Solar Bidders From ISA Member Nations For African Projects

India's state-owned utility NTPC Ltd has launched a tender on behalf of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) seeking bidders to bring online solar cold storage projects in off-grid mode, in African nations of Senegal, Djibouti, Sudan and Seychelles.

Broad scope of work is supply, install and commission 5 metric ton (MT) solar based cold storage system at Senegal, 2x2MT at Djibouti, 5 MT at Sudan and 5 MW at Seychelles. The winners will also be required to provide 1-year standard warranty and 2 years extended warranty for the systems installed.

They will be responsible for remote monitoring for the system. Interested bidders can be from ISA member nations or signatories, according to NTPC, project management consultant (PMC) for the ISA.

In Senegal, the 5MT capacity will be located in Louga section of Niyaes region, 200 km away from the port of Dakar.

In Djibouti, the projects will be located on government land in OMAR JAGA'A village in Arta region, and in Dougoum village of Tadjourah.

The Sudan project will be stationed in Assunaytah in West Kordofan Stat, while in Seychelles it is proposed to be located on La Digue island.

According to the tender notification, the system should be capable of running on 415V 3-phase or 240V single phase grid power, or on power from a diesel generator (DG) set.

Launched on June 22, 2022, NTPC will accept bids for this tender till July 25, 2022. Further details are available on NTPC's procure website with notice inviting tender (NIT) no. CS-0011-004F-0.
