  • Hybrid converters will enable consumption of electricity, even in times of outage
  • Converter to generate additional income for consumers
  • Ministry to publish a guide to help them set up systems with hybrid converters

The Israel Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, along with the Electricity Authority are encouraging people to install hybrid converter in solar facilities integrated with storage.

In scenarios of energy disruptions, the integration of hybrid converters into solar systems allows consumers to continue getting electricity directly from the solar system or from the storage facility. This way, the converter will enable the solar and storage facilities to continue selling electricity to the grid, thus reducing electricity payments and generating income.

Speaking about this, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Eli Cohen, said, “Installing a hybrid converter can help every Israeli household, residents of private houses and communal buildings, public institutions, and industrial, commercial and agricultural buildings. The converter will generate additional income and reduce electricity expenses, and in addition, it will allow electricity to be consumed in emergencies and in cases of power outages.”

To promote this initiative, the Ministry is offering attractive tariffs for the establishment of renewable energy and low voltage storage facilities. Apart from this, citizens who build solar installations will be exempted from income and property taxes.

The Ministry is also expected to publish a guide for general public that will cover various options for setting up independent systems that include a hybrid converter.
