  • ITK’s Smart Charging Infrastructure Architect (SCIA) is a SaaS tool that can help users plan and deploy EV charging infrastructure efficiently
  • SCIA allows users to compare different deployment options and consider future developments when planning EV charging
  • SCIA’s detailed simulations help users make informed decisions about EV charging, which can reduce costs and ensure safety and efficiency

Smart Charging Infrastructure Architect (SCIA) from Germany’s ITK Engineering GmbH was a finalist for the Power2Drive AWARD 2023. It is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool that helps users to plan and site EV charging infrastructure in a way that is efficient and meets the needs of end users.

SCIA takes a bottom-up approach, considering the mobility behavior of end users by deriving the behavior of the entire system from a specific simulation of the power grid. This ensures that the charging infrastructure is designed to meet their needs. This approach further allows users to compare different deployment options based on multiple goals, taking into account future developments such as growth of the EV adoption. Furthermore, SCIA helps analyze how bidirectional charging affects the power grid.

SCIA’s detailed simulations help users to make informed decisions about EV charging infrastructure, which can reduce the need for costly trial-and-error installations. The detailed simulations help to ensure that EV charging infrastructure is safe and efficient, which can minimize costs.
