JA Solar Modules In Pakistan PV Plant

• JA Solar ships n-type modules to Pakistan for the 1st time
• JA Solar and Orient Energy complete Pakistan's first n-type PV plant
• Located in the country's desert area, the PV plant is benefiting from JA Solar's modules that have low degradation and higher bifacial power generation gains

Chinese vertically integrated solar PV manufacturer, JA Solar, announced that Pakistan's photovoltaic power plant to which it had supplied its n-type high-efficiency modules has been completed. With this, Pakistan gets its first n-type PV power plant with a capacity of 26 MW. This is also JA Solar's 1st shipment of n-type modules to Pakistan.

JA Solar collaborated with one of the leading PV EPC contractors Orient Energy Systems to complete this project.

The project is installed in the open space of one of the largest cement manufacturers in Pakistan and adopts a self-generation and self-consumption model to meet the plant's power needs. As the plant is in a desert area in Pakistan, it benefits from JA Solar's n-type modules that offer low degradation, better temperature coefficient, higher bifacial power generation gains, and better low irradiance performance. All these lead to higher power generation gains even when operating in high-temperature environments in the desert.

The application of PV to a cement manufacturing facility, which by nature consumes high amounts of energy, is expected to reduce fossil energy consumption and carbon emissions while promoting green transformation.

JA Solar's n-type modules have been certified and recognized by a number of authorities, including TÜV SÜD. In October 2023, the company had reported shipping 37.63 GW of solar modules, with more than half being sold overseas (see JA Solar Reports Strong Financial Growth In 9M/2023)
