JinkoSolar Launches 610W TopCon Module At SNEC

JinkoSolar Enters 600W High Power Module Club With N-Type Tiger Pro 610W Series Claiming 22.3% Efficiency; Launches 550W BIPV Modules

After Risen Energy, Maxeon Solar Technologies and Trina Solar, now JinkoSolar has launched its 600W module claiming up to 61 0W output. Unlike the others, JinkoSolar uses high-efficiency N-type Topcon cells for its latest product in the Tiger Pro series. (Photo Credit: TaiyangNews)
  • JinkoSolar has launched N-type Tiger Pro 610W module series using TR technology
  • It also deploys 78 cell design and claims a conversion efficiency of 22.3% for this series
  • The company has also unveiled its first version of colored BIPV series with a power output of up to 550W

Even before the world had time to absorb 500 W level solar modules and get accustomed to it, module manufacturers are already joining the 600 W bandwagon. After Trina Solar, SunPower’s planned spin-off Maxeon Solar Technologies and Risen Energy, it is now JinkoSolar Holding that has launched a 600 W modules.

At the SNEC 2020 expo in Shanghai, JinkoSolar unveiled the new module series that promises to deliver 610 W output. For this N-type Tiger Pro 610W modules series, it uses high efficiency monocrystalline tiling ribbon (TR) technology. The module is said to come with a conversion efficiency of 22.3%.

“The key behind the success of Tiger Pro 610W is the N-Type HOT 2.0 high-efficiency cell technology, independently developed by JinkoSolar. Thanks to the introduction of new technologies, such as HOT tunneling layer passivated contact and advanced metallization, the cell efficiency has reached 24.79%, setting once again a world record for the efficiency of large area N-Type monocrystalline silicon solar cells,” stated JinkoSolar. “At the same time, the use of 78 cell design and of TR technology, which helps reduce significantly the cell gap, as well as lower the electricity cost and improve the system compatibility, represents another milestone for the PV industry in its quest for grid parity.”

JinkoSolar, the world’s largest module supplier in 2019, has also announced its first version of a colored building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) series with a power output of up to 550 W. It is offering these products in a variety of colors and levels of translucence ‘incorporating modern architectural aesthetics for use as a building component’.

In May 2020, JinkoSolar launched its Tiger Pro solar modules with up to 580 W output using 9BB and TR technology. Mass production was to commence in Q3/2020 (see JinkoSolar Modules With Up To 580W Output).

JinkoSolar discussed its high power module technology recently during the first TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on 500W+ Solar Modules on July 29 & 30, 2020 (see TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on 500W+ Solar Modules). At the event it already said that it would introduce a new n-type module at SNEC:

During the conference, TaiyangNews launched its first report on 500W+ Solar Modules which tracks changes in wafer, cell and module manufacturing to assemble very large scale panels and features products of pioneers in this segment. The report can be downloaded for free here.
