Enel raises €600 million for sustainability projects in Latin America; Verano Energy acquires 15 solar projects in Chile; Dominican Republic grants concession agreement to 50 MW solar project.

€600 million facility for Enel: Italy's Enel Group has raised up to €600 million sustainability-linked financing facility from the European Investment Bank (EIB), backed by a guarantee from SACE to use for sustainable energy investments in Latin America. Of the total facility, Enel Green Power Peru will get €130 million to support the development of nearly 300 MW wind and solar capacity in Peru. Remaining facility will be used to support the company's renewable energy and power distribution projects in Brazil and Colombia. EIB said projects financed with this facility are expected to generate around 2,307 GWh of clean energy annually.

Verano Energy acquires 116 MW solar in Chile: Solar project developer and EPC company Verano Energy has acquired 116 MW solar capacity in Chile in the form of 15 projects. Projects have been acquired from various local developers with the facilities ranging between 2.5 MW to 11 MW under PMGD program. It explains PMGD scheme to enable projects get automatic grid access with a no curtailment guarantee, transmission toll reductions along with a stabilized pricing scheme. Verano's total project pipeline in Chile now adds up to over 1.5 GW comprising 417 MW under PMGD program.

Concession contract for 50 MW PV in Dominican Republic: The National Energy Commission (CNE) of Dominican Republic has signed a definitive concession agreement with WCGF Solar II for a 67 MW DC/50 MW AC solar power plant. The company will develop this project in Mata of Palma in the municipality of Guerra in Santo Domingo province. The Washington Capital Solar Park 2 project will help promote the development of renewable energy sources in the country, stated CNE.
