  • MPUVNL has issued RFP round for 1.25 GW grid connected solar power capacity under PM KUSUM Scheme
  • Launched on behalf of MPPMCL, the tender seeks to source power for agricultural pumps under component C of the scheme
  • MPUVNL said solar power procured under the tender will help meet the requirement of target feeders associated with local substations

The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam limited (MPUVNL) has launched a tender to procure power from 1.25 GW of grid connected solar PV capacity in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The tender is part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahahiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme.

The state energy company is seeking this capacity on behalf of Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), under component C of the scheme under which the federal government aims to solarize 1.5 million agricultural pumps of individual farmers, representing a total capacity of 11.2 GW solar PV (see MNRE Revises Solar Target Under PM-KUSUM Scheme).

Broad scope of work comprises design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning the capacity, along with comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for 25 years. Solar power procured will help meet the requirement of target feeders associated with local substations.

As per the request for proposals (RFP) launched on July 20, 2022, the last date for online bid submission is August 17, 2022 and for offline the submission can be done till August 18, 2022.

The last time MPUVNL invited bids under PM KUSUM Scheme was in March 2022 for 440 MW grid connected solar PV capacity under component A (see Madhya Pradesh Launches 440 MW PV Tender).

Recently, the Minister of State for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Bhagwanth Khuba provided an update to the PM KUSUM Scheme in the Parliament.
