ClearVue’s technology expansion: Australia-based smart building materials company Clearvue Technologies Limited has announced a research partnership with Qatar University and Australia’s Murdoch University. Under the arrangement, the 2 institutions will work with ClearVue’s patented solar PV glazing technology to develop innovative solutions to enhance greenhouse performances in extreme environments with an aim to address food security challenges in the arid climates of Qatar. Their research project is titled Concept Design and Validation of an Energy-efficient Clear Solar Glass Greenhouse for Higher Food Production in Arid Climate of Qatar.
Supported by a $500,000 grant from the Qatar National Research Fund, the initiative is targeted to enable year-round crop cultivation with climate control and crop growth strategies and energy efficiency. For this purpose, ClearVue will provide access to its advanced greenhouse research facility at Murdoch University during the 3-year research period to enable year-round crop cultivation. The greenhouse, fitted with ClearVue’s patented solar glass, will be transformed into a microgrid blended with an energy storage system that can operate as a standalone energy system. Recently, ClearVue signed an OEM Manufacturing Agreement with China’s Maxblue Industrial Glass Co., Ltd. to manufacture products using the former’s advanced PV glazing technology, exclusively for ClearVue.
