JinkoPower wins Saad 300 MW solar PV project in Saudi Arabia: Solar power plant operator JinkoPower Technology from China announced that it has been awarded the Saad 300 MW solar PV project in the recent public auction by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy for Round-3, Category B of solar PV projects. The construction of this project will be spread across 2022 to 2023 and will use bifacial solar technology. Once operational, the plant is expected to reduce Riyadh’s CO2 emissions by more than 0.5 million metric tons per year, which is equal to removing about 100,000 cars from the road.

LONGi signs Qujing ingot & wafer project production project: Vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi announced that it has signed Phase II of the Qujing Monocrystalline Silicon Ingot and Wafer Project. In this phase, the investment scale monocrystalline silicon ingot project will be 20 GW/year, and the investment scale for a monocrystalline silicon wafer project will be 30 GW/year.

Huawei to provide smart PV and ESS solution to Meinergy in Africa: Signing an agreement with Meinergy Technology, Huawei Digital Power Technologies said that it will be providing a complete smart PV & energy storage system solution for the 1 GW utility-scale PV plant and 500 MWh ESS project being developed by Meinergy in Ghana. Meinergy has been in Ghana for many years, and its business covers mining, electric power, and PV sectors. The company has expanded its renewable energy business in Ghana and other countries in Africa and aims at providing stable green power for local communities and bridging the electric power divide.

Center Int wins RMB 800 mn rooftop project bid: In an announcement, Center Int said its subsidiary Center Int Green Energy has won the bid for a roof distributed photovoltaic power generation project of Shandong Heavy Industry Group. The winning bid amount was RMB 800 million, which accounts for 25.37% of the company’s audited operating income in 2020. The formal contract is yet to be signed, and the specific amount and the construction scope are subject to the signing of the formal contract, the company said.

JA Solar projects settled in Qujing: Signing an investment agreement for the third phase of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells and green new energy base projects in Qujing, integrated solar PV panel manufacturer JA Solar said that it plans to invest RMB 10 billion ($1.58 billion) to start the construction of high-efficiency solar cells with a total scale of 10 GW and a module manufacturing base of 5 GW. Both the manufacturing projects will be developed in phases, starting in 2022.
