First phase of Shuangliang Eco-Energy project will have RMB 1.5 billion investment; JinkoSolar to invest RMB 10.8 billion in PV projects; Trina registers positive growth in Q1/2022; Golden Solar to develop HJT; JinkoPower to increase subsidiary capital by RMB 9.5 million.

Shuangliang Eco-Energy to build 20 GW PV project in Baotou: China headquartered solar PV production equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy said that the company intends to sign a 20 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic module project cooperation agreement with the Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone Committee. The project will be built in phases. In the first phase, 5 GW of the project will be developed for RMB 1.5 billion ($0.24 billion) and will be completed in two years. The remaining 15 GW will be gradually implemented as per the market situation.

JinkoSolar to develop PV projects in Shangrao: Module supplier JinkoSolar's 24 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic module and 100,000-ton photovoltaic module aluminium profile project will soon begin in Shangrao, the Jiangxi government website announced. The total investment of the project is RMB 10.8 billion ($1.70 billion) and will be built in three phases. The first and the second phases will see the construction of 8 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic modules; while the third phase will build the 8 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic modules and also 100,000 tons of photovoltaic module aluminium profiles.

Trina Q1/2022 net profit rises by 117% to 161%: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar announced that the company expects a net profit of RMB 500 million to RMB 600 million ($78.5 million to $94.29 million) in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of RMB 270 million to RMB 370 million ($42 million to $58 million) compared to the same period of the previous year, a year-on-year increase of 117% to 161%. This performance is due to the company's photovoltaic product business that developed rapidly, and also due to the rise in photovoltaic module shipments and sales revenue. Last month, Trina Solar had claimed world record for large area industrial N-Type Mono-Si I-TopCon Cell (see 25.5% Efficiency For 210mm i-TOPCon Cell)

Golden Solar, Gold Stone & NUS to develop HJT: Material science company Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings Limited, in an announcement, said that its subsidiary Golden Solar (Hong Kong) Solar Material has signed a memorandum of understanding for a research collaboration with Gold Stone (Fujian) Energy, which is also a strategic partner of the Group; and the National University of Singapore (NUS) (acting through its Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS)). The parties intend to research on the multi-junction heterojunction silicon solar cell-based device structures with a perovskite top cell, and perovskite materials. Their initial goal will be to achieve an energy conversion efficiency of over 28% for perovskite/heterojunction silicon tandem solar cells.

JinkoPower to increase capital of subsidiary: PV power station operator JinkoPower plans to increase the capital of its Hong Kong subsidiary by RMB 9.5 million ($1.5 million). This is being done for preliminary due diligence and development of overseas photovoltaic power station projects. Last month, JinkoPower had provided guarantees to its subsidiaries (see China PV News Snippets)
