Beijing Lingjun New Energy will invest in SPIC C-HJT cell technology; JinkoSolar among Top 50 Forbes China Most Innovative Companies; Risen to invest RMB 3 bn in silicon metal; BOSHIAC wins RMB 52 million order; China's new energy grid-connected consumption report released.

SPIC C-HJT cell technology finds investor: SPIC New Energy Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Central Research Institute of SPIC,  through WeChat said that its high-efficiency copper grid heterojunction photovoltaic cell (C-HJT cell) has found a strategic investor, Beijing Lingjun New Energy Technology. This signifies that the C-HJT technology, which is being developed independently by SPIC and which uses screen-printed silver gridline and deposited copper metal gridlines, has been recognized by the market. The focus of Lingjun New Energy will now be to actively promote the industrialization of this technology.

JinkoSolar among Top 50 Forbes China Most Innovative Companies: Module supplier JinkoSolar said on its website that has featured among the top 50 Forbes China Most Innovative Companies 2022. The evaluation done by Forbes covers the nominated company's innovation ability in terms of business model, enterprise R&D investment, intellectual property rights, technological achievements, as well as overall company growth. This recognition comes at a time when JinkoSolar has been focusing on research and development of next-generation N-type Topcon technologies and products to help businesses and customers, alike. In December, the company had spoken about its Tiger Neo: N-Type Solar Technologies For Improved Performance at a TaiyangNews Conference (see Leo Yu, Jinko Solar: Tiger Neo: N-Type Solar Technologies For Improved Performance).

Risen to invest in 200,000 tons of silicon metal in Guyang: Chinese solar panel maker Risen Energy announced that it plans to invest in 200,000 tons of silicon metal in Guyang County.  With an investment of about RMB 3 billion ($0.44 billion), this project will be constructed in 2 phases. In January 2022, Risen had announced plans to invest RMB 44.65 billion ($ 7 billion) for manufacturing and power generation in Baotou, which will enable the company to produce 200,000 MT silicon metal or industrial silicon, 150,000 MT high-purity polysilicon, 10 GW N-type high efficiency wafer and 3 GW module assembly project (see Risen Energy's RMB 44.6 Billion Investment Plan).

BOSHIAC wins RMB 52 million order from Xinjiang Qiya Silicon: Automated packaging company BOSHIAC said in an announcement that it has won a contract with power company Xinjiang Qiya Silicon Industry for polysilicon automatic packaging machine worth RMB 52 million ($7.69 million). This would include embedded software of the polysilicon automatic packaging machine too. The delivery will be around March 2023.

China's new energy grid-connected consumption report released: The National New Energy Grid-connected Consumption report for June 2022 has been released by China New Energy Consumption Monitoring and Early Warning Center via WeChat. As per the report, in June 2022, China's photovoltaic utilization rate was 98.6%. For 6 months from January to June 2022, China's utilization rate was 97.7%. Tibet showed the lowest rates from January to June, with a photovoltaic utilization rate of 79.6%. This was followed by Qinghai, which had a photovoltaic utilization rate of 89.1% during the same period.
