Chint Solar Astronergy Thailand rolls out 1st 210 mm module under phase II; Sichuan’s power rationing mandate impacting JinkoSolar’s production; EGing PV’s H1/2022 financials out; Ouda produces 1st n-type TOPCon high efficiency module; Hengxing to build 50 million kms diamond wire project.
Chint Astronergy’s Thailand phase II project’s 1st module out: Chint Solar Astronergy Thailand’s rolled out its 1st 210mm high efficiency module under phase II on August 18, 2022, after the 1st 210mm solar cell was produced on August 16, 2022. The phase II project includes an annual output of 210mm cells and modules, each with 1.5 GW capacity. The Vice President of Chint New Energy Technology Lu Zhenyu said the phase II project in Thailand is a timely move of the company, in line with the development of overseas PV market and business to increase the brand’s overseas influence.
JinkoSolar’s Sichuan manufacturing update: Vertically integrated solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar has said its production capacity in China’s Sichuan province have been temporarily affected due to the local government’s decision to ration power to deal with the local power shortage. JinkoSolar says the province-wide power rationing measures came into effect from August 15, 2022. It said the company has implemented various measures to minimize the adverse impact on its business operations and financial performance. One of these measures is having its other manufacturing facilities produce more. It stated, “However, as it remains uncertain how long the power rationing measures will persist and when JinkoSolar’s Sichuan manufacturing facilities can resume full production, JinkoSolar is currently unable to evaluate the extent to which its business operation and financial performance for full year 2022 will be affected.”
EGing PV reports strong H1/2022 sales: Solar cell and module manufacturer EGing PV has reported revenues of RMB 3.465 billion in H1/2022, registering an annual increase of 93.29% and net profit of RMB 23.6 million. EGing PV added 22 new overseas customers and expanded its sales range to exceed 50 countries and regions. It expects to officially put into production its 5 GW high efficiency solar module project in September 2022. After the project is fully operational, the company will form a production capacity scale of 5 GW cell + 10GW module.
Ouda’s n-type TOPCon fab rolls out 1st module: Ouda Optoelectronics has said its Osda Shandong Linyi production base has produced its 1st n-type TOPCon high efficiency solar PV module. The company said this project was selected as one of the 10 fast-track projects in Linyi. Once completely online, it will have 10 GW module and 2 GWh energy storage system capacity. According to the company, “After the project is put into production, it will be the largest single unit, the most advanced technology, the most advanced intelligence and information technology, n-type TOPCon and photovoltaic building-integrated module manufacturing plant north of the Yangtze River in China.”
Hengxing Technology to build new diamond wire project: Diamond wire and silicon wafer products manufacturer Hengxing Technology, trading as Stellar Technology, is planning to build a new diamond wire project with 50 million km annual output. The project will be built in phases in Dalat, for a total investment of about RMB 1.1 billion, as per a cooperation intention agreement signed with the local administration. The company expects annual sales of nearly RMB 1.7 billion once the project is functional, and profits and taxes as RMB 700 million. It produced 7.55 million km of diamond wire products and sold 7.52 million km in H1/2022. Prices remain stable, it said. In November 2021, it announced plans to build a new ultra-fine diamond wire fab with an annual output of 30 million kms to take its annual production capacity to 46 million kms (see China PV News Snippets).
