Sungrow launches new energy storage system: Solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow has rolled out a brand-new energy storage system – ST129CP-50HV Series – for APAC commercial and industrial market. Featuring simplicity, security, intelligence and cost-efficiency, this product supports various applications including demand management, peak & valley arbitrage, self-consumption, power backup and micro-grid.

CEEC JSPDI & Gangcha partner for wind-PV storage project: CEEC Jiangsu Power Design Institute (JSPDI) announced that it has partnered with the People’s Government of Guncha County for wind-photovoltaic storage integration demonstration project. Spread across an area of about 12,300 mu, the project has a capacity of 400 MW and an investment of about RMB 2 billion ($ 0.31 billion).

Aiko Solar purchases 2.88 bn silicon wafers: Chinese solar cell producer Aiko Solar announced it will be purchasing 2.88 billion monocrystalline silicon wafers from China headquartered solar PV production equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy and Hongyuan New Material, a subsidiary of Shangji Automation. The transaction amount is RMB 19.43 billion ($3.04 billion) (including tax). Shuangliang will be providing 2.1 billion monocrystalline wafers from Jan 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024, while Hongyuan New Material will provide 780 million wafers from Nov. 2021 to Dec. 2023 (subject to a 10% fluctuation).

SUMEC to transfer equity in 5 PV power companies for RMB 1.1 bn: Industrial and supply chains integrator SUMEC announced that it intends to transfer 100% equity interest in three PV power plant project companies – Tacheng, Xiguang and Dashiqiao; and 60% equity interest in two PV power plant project companies – Pingyi and Yantai. The transaction amount is estimated to be RMB 1.1 billion ($0.17 billion)
