DAS Solar launches new 54 version SMBB module: In an announcement, Chinese solar PV module and cell supplier DAS Solar said that it has launched its new high-power 54 version SMBB module. Meant for the global distributed market, the product follows the size of the M10 series cell, and adopts a new design version of 54 pieces. The company added that the output power can touch 420 W, and the output efficiency is as high as 21.5%. Earlier in July this year, DAS Solar had launched the DAON brand (see China PV News Snippets)

JinkoSolar purchases silicon from Tongwei: Integrated solar PV manufacturer from China Tongwei Solar announced that five of its subsidiaries have signed a polysilicon sales contract with module supplier JinkoSolar and its subsidiaries. As per the contract, from September 2022 to December 2026, JinkoSolar will buy about 382,800 tons of polysilicon products. Recently, Tongwei had won a 200 MW module supply bid in China (see China PV News Snippets)

Yuanping 1 GW PV and energy storage project signed: Yuanping government said on its website that the government, China Energy Construction Group Investment, and the Yangtze River Delta Investment Promotion Bureau have come together for a 1 GW photovoltaic and energy storage integrated power generation project. The investment of the project is about RMB 7 billion ($1.01 billion) and will be increasing green power supply, promoting energy revolution, improving the ecological environment and driving the local economy in in Yuanping city.

Xiaomi releases first solar panel: Consumer electronics company Xiaomi announced the release of its first Mijia solar panel with a power of 100 W at an initial price of RMB 1099 ($158.5). The Mijia solar panel is said to have adopted solar cell and module manufacturer Sunport Power's series of black customized small lightweight and portable panel. The Sunport Power's core MWT high-efficiency back-contact cell technology eliminates the busbar line of the front side and increases light-absorption area by about 3%.

LONGi among Top 500 Global New Energy Enterprises: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi said that it has been listed on the 2022 Top 50 Chinese Enterprises with Carbon Neutral Contributions, and was selected as the Top 500 Global New Energy Enterprises. This is the eighth consecutive year LONGi has bagged this award, but this time it ranked sixth, for the first time entering the top 10 list. The Top 500 Global New Energy Enterprises award has been jointly created by China Energy News and China Energy Economic Research Institute, where companies are ranked based on operating income, profitability, and R&D innovation investment of the previous year.
