State Grid to invest in Shandong distributed PV projects: In an announcement, State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power said that its wholly-owned subsidiary – Anhui Jidian New Energy – intends to invest in the construction of distributed PV projects for households in five cities and 10 counties of Shandong Province.  The project will have an overall capacity of 300 MW, with monocrystalline silicon modules of 450 W and above to be installed on the household roofs. The total investment of the project will be RMB 1.13 billion ($0.18 billion). In April, State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power had released plans to raise RMB 2.24 billion for PV and wind projects (see China PV News Snippets: Akcome, Jilin Electric, JYT)

JYT's 10 GW large-size PV wafer project begins production: JYT Corporation, which is a group enterprise with four major industries including high-end equipment, new materials, new energy power generation and clean tech, said that its 10 GW large-size solar wafers manufacturing project is completed. The project had started earlier this year and has been built with advanced manufacturing equipment, automatic packaging lines equipped with MES systems and related auxiliary projects. Now, after 7 months, the construction of the project has been completed, and the equipment has been officially put into production.

Lingyang partners with Beitou Energy to set up New Energy Industry in Guangxi: Smart electricity meter company Linyang Energy and Beitou Energy Investment Group have signed an agreement to develop PV power plants, energy storage, hydrogen energy and related new energy industries in Guangxi. Both companies intend to establish a joint venture company that will focus on the development of various solar power station projects, and also plan to jointly develop a 500 MW/1GWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage project.

Zhonghuan Semiconductor's 2021 third quarter revenues up: Releasing its third-quarter performance report, Chinese solar wafer manufacturer Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor (TZS) said that it has achieved a revenue of RMB 11.44 billion, a year-on-year increase of 117.46%. The company's monocrystalline production capacity has increased to 73.5 GW, of which G12 production capacity accounted for approximately 59%. TZS, which is also a shareholder in SunPower spin-off Maxeon Solar, said it continued with its R&D of module technology for a shingled 3.0 production line and PERC 3.0. The production capacity of its G12 high-efficiency shingle module project in Jiangsu area has now reached 6 GW; and the G12 high-efficiency shingle module project in Tianjin area has officially entered the production stage, according to the release.
