Energy China Group and ACWA Power come together for second phase of Saudi PIF PV project; Jolywood to purchase polyester film products from Jiangsu Yuxing; 15 GW module facility of Hefei GCL System achieves full production.
Energy China Group signs 2.6 GW PV project: China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group) and power generation and desalinated water production company, ACWA Power, signed a 2.6 GW photovoltaic agreement for the second phase of Saudi PIF in Dubai, local media reported. Located at Shouyba in Saudi Arabia, this solar power station is supposed to be one of the largest in the country. The project involves design, construction, and commissioning of two PV power plants. Earlier this year, Energy China Group had signed an EPC contract for a 200 MW agri-PV project (see China PV News Snippets). In August, ACWA Power had announced the appointment of Kashif Rana as its chief portfolio management officer. He is responsible for driving the development and implementation of an effective portfolio-management strategy for the company's expanding global portfolio. Jiangsu Yuxing and Jolywood partner for polyester film: BoPET film manufacturer, Jiangsu Yuxing Film Technology Co., Ltd., announced that it has partnered with n-type solar module manufacturer Jolywood. As part of this development, Jolywood will purchase polyester film products from Jiangsu Yuxing till June 30, 2025. The estimated purchase volume is pegged at about 650 million m2 (about 260,000 tons).
Hefei GCL System 15 GW module facility achieves full production: Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL System Integration Technology said that the 15 GW photovoltaic module facility of Hefei GCL System Integration Technology has completed equipment installation and commissioning, trial production and process optimization. Currently, the facility has achieved stable and full production.
