Tongwei and Blue Sun to complete 100 MW modules shipment; 35 Interconnect to build 5 GW HJT facility; SPIC Huanghe and Spanish distributor partner for IBC modules; Jiangsu Safety Wire Rope to establish a new company with focus on TOPCon.

Tongwei and Australia’s Blue Sun join hands: Integrated solar PV manufacturer from China, Tongwei Solar said in a WeChat communication that the company’s Asia-Pacific team has joined hands with one of the largest distributors of renewable energy products in Australia, Blue Sun Group. Both the teams have agreed to cooperate in the Australian market and complete a shipment of 100 MW Tongwei high-efficiency half-cut modules by 2023. Entering the Australian market is a significant move for Tongwei Solar and both the companies look forward to bringing innovative solution to the Australian PV market.

35 Interconnect to invest RMB 2.5 bn in HJT facility: China based cloud computing for enterprise information services company 35 Interconnect announced that it will be signing a 5 GW heterojunction cell facility deal with the People’s Government of Danling County. With an investment of RMB 2.5 billion ($0.36 billion), the facility is expected to be completed and put into operation by December 2024. Here is how the construction is scheduled to take place:

  • Phase 1: Construction of 2 GW production line with an investment of RMB 1 billion ($0.14 billion) in a land spread across 204 mu. Expected to be completed and officially put into operation before December 2023.
  • Phase 2: Construction of 3 GW heterojunction solar cells facility with an investment of RMB 1.5 billion ($0.22 billion). Expected to be completed and officially put into operation by December 2024.

SPIC Huanghe signs IBC modules sales deal with Spanish distributor: The official website of the Government of Qinghani Province announced that a large-scale energy enterprise controlled by the State Power Investment Group Co., Ltd, SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., has signed a 28.35 MW IBC module sales deal with a Spanish distributor for 2023. Prior to this, the company had signed a 200 MW IBC cell sales agreement with leading domestic application product companies for a period from 2022 to 2024. And way back in 2020, DuPont and SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development had entered a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly work for advanced photovoltaic research and development (see China PV News Snippets)

Jiangsu Safety Wire Rope eyes focus on TOPCon: Wire producer and seller Jiangsu Safety Wire Rope said in an announcement that it plans to invest in the establishment of a new company likely to be called Suzhou Saifutian New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The new company will focus on research and development, production and sales of P-type and new TOPCon photovoltaic cells, related core components, equipment and downstream application services. The company added that this investment aligns to its strategic planning and will further enhance its market competitiveness.
