SCHMID at TaiyangNews Conference on 28 Feb: Dr Christian Buchner, Vice President, BU Photovoltaics SCHMID Group will be taking part in the upcoming TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Solar Cell Production Equipment & Processing Materials. He will be addressing the topic: Innovations in Wet-Chemical Solutions for the State of the Art and Advanced Cell Architectures. As there's increasing interest in high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing at low cost around the world, the Conference will look into the latest developments in this segment of the solar value chain. And SCHMID, known for its ultra-modern manufacturing concepts in the field of wet chemistry, high-performance plants, highly networked production facilities, complex automation systems, innovative energy storage systems and international service, will provide an interesting take at the Conference, which will take place on 28 February 2023 from 09.30-13.30 CET. Registrations are for free and you can easily register by clicking here.
Trina's Qinghai fab produces first 210+N monocrystalline silicon rod: Over a WeChat communication, Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar said that its Qinghai facility has successfully produced the first 210+N monocrystalline silicon rod. With about 3800 mm in length and 542 kg in weight, the n-type 210R monocrystalline silicon rod is considered to be at a leading level in terms of production technology, quality and scale. Recently, at the TaiyangNews Solar Module Innovations Conference, Jerry Cao, Product Manager Trina Solar, presented details for the company's n-type i-TOPCon solar product (see Jerry Cao, Trina: Trina's n-Type Solar Product)
LONGi releases silicon wafer prices: Announcing the latest silicon wafer prices, Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi provided the details below:
LONGi had last released its silicon wafer prices in December 2022.
Guao Technology to produce HJT and perovskite: Financial equipment company, Guao Technology, announced that it has signed an agreement with liquid crystal display provider, Belight. With this partnership, both the companies want to process and produce some components and equipment such as high-efficiency heterojunction cells and vacuum coating of perovskite cells. Any type of transaction amount is yet to be specified.
5th phase of TCL Zhonghuan's DW facility begins construction: Leading solar wafer supplier TCL Zhonghuan New Energy Technology said via WeChat that it has begun construction of the fifth phase of its DW facility that will produce 35 GW of high-purity ultra-thin monocrystalline silicon wafers annually. With an investment of RMB 4.1 billion ($0.6 billion), the facility is expected to be completed and put into operation by the fourth quarter of 2023. Last week, the company had announced partnering with Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone for the same facility (see China PV News Snippets)
