Register now to listen to Risen Energy's Leon Zhuang at TaiyangNews Conference; GCL Integration raises investment in TOPCon; LONGi silicon wafer prices released; Yunnan's 5 GW HJT facility put into operation; French carbon footprint certification for Seraphim PV modules.

Risen at TaiyangNews Solar & Sustainability Conference 2023: Leon Zhuang, Global Marketing Director, Risen Energy will be speaking at TaiyangNews' first Solar & Sustainability Virtual Conference. He will be addressing the topic: Commercial Low CO2 Footprint HJT Modules. The Conference will take place on 30 March from 9:30 – 13:15 CET, and will see other esteemed solar PV stakeholders like LONGi, JinkoSolar, Bay Wa r.e., Cybrid, TÜV Süd, Endurans, Aquila Capital take part. As the solar industry is growing rapidly and massive volumes of solar systems are being installed around the world, it's important that sustainability topics are not forgotten. This Conference will take a look at the topic from various angles – including material suppliers, manufacturers, developers, and certification bodies. Do join. Click here for free registrations.

GCL Integration raises funds for TOPCon: Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL Integration announced that it is raising funds to the tune of RMB 6 billion, which will be used towards:

  • Phase II of Wuhu GCL facility, where the investment will be about RMB 3.8 billion ($0.55 billion). With a construction period of 12 months, the facility will produce 10 GW TOPCon solar high efficiency cells annually, on completion.
  • Smart energy storage system of Shenghao New Energy Development (Xuzhou), where the investment is about RMB 1.2 billion ($0.17 billion). With a construction period of 12 months, the facility will produce about 10 GWh energy storage system products. This will include household energy storage products, industrial and commercial energy storage systems, air-cooled and liquid-cooled battery modules, and the like.

LONGi releases silicon wafer prices: Announcing its latest silicon wafer prices, Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi said:

  • The price of p-type M10 with 150μm thickness is at RMB 6.50/pc ($0.837/pc)
  • The price of p-type M6 with 150μm thickness is at RMB 5.61/pc ($0.723/pc)

When compared to its earlier price release in March (see China PV News Snippets), the prices nor the thickness have changed. Meanwhile, LONGi's Brand GM & Head of Global Marketing, Talisman Huo, will be speaking at TaiyangNews Solar and Sustainability Conference to be held on March 30, 2023. 5 GW HJT facility put into operation: Local media reported that a 5 GW high-efficiency heterojunction solar cell facility in Yunnan Province has been put into operation. Developed by Dali Huasun and spread across 324 acres, this is supposed to be the first heterojunction cell facility with a high-efficiency capacity of 5 GW. Once the facility is completed and put into production, the annual output value will be more than RMB 10 billion ($1.45 billion). It will also bridge the gap of high-efficiency photovoltaic cell manufacturing in Yunnan Province.

Seraphim PV modules awarded French carbon footprint certification: Over a WeChat communication, Chinese solar PV module maker Seraphim said that its S4 series modules have successfully passed the French carbon footprint ECS certification. Issued by the French Energy Regulatory Commission, the French carbon footprint certification is one the most authoritative certifications for photovoltaic products above 100 KW to enter the French market. As per the reports, the carbon emission of Seraphim S4 series modules is only 417.11 kg CO2/kWp, which is 15% lower than that of common modules in France.
