Canadian Solar's TOPCon facility put into production; J.S.Machine achieves RMB 302 million net profit; Gaoce to build 50 GW PV wafer fab; Construction begins for UtmoLight's 1 GW perovskite production line.
It's production time for Canadian Solar's TOPCon facility: Chinese solar power company Canadian Solar said via WeChat that its first TOPCon cell mass production facility in Suqian Economic Development Zone has been officially put into production. This facility was initiated in September 2020 and was built in two phases of 10 GW photovoltaic modules and 10 GW photovoltaic cells. Once the facility is fully completed, the annual sales is expected to be over RMB 23 billion ($3.3 billion). Few days back, Canadian Solar had said it is bringing all of its global energy development business under a single platform (see Canadian Solar Expands Recurrent's Role). It also published an ambitious manufacturing expansion roadmap (see Gigantic Expansion Plans From Canadian Solar).
J.S.Machine announces 2022 annual report: Announcing its annual report, Chinese equipment manufacturing enterprise J.S.Machine said that it has achieved an operating income of RMB 4.8 billion ($0.7 billion), an increase of 19.14% over the previous year; and a net profit of RMB 302 million ($43.9 million), an increase of 107.04% over the previous year. The company attributed this performance to the strong growth of its photovoltaic business, which led to an increase in the number of new orders and orders in hand, which in turn led to a rise in sales revenue and net profit.
Gaoce to build 50 GW PV wafer facility in Yibin: In an announcement, Gaoce said it has signed an agreement with Yibin High-tech Industrial Park Management Committee, and will be building a 50 GW silicon wafer facility in Yibin. It will be built in two phases – wherein the first phase will see the construction of a production line with an annual output of 25 GW. On completion, the fab will be able to produce 50 GW large silicon wafers annually.
Construction begins for UtmoLight's 1 GW perovskite production line: Over a WeChat communication, solar technology company UtmoLight said that its perovskite facility with an investment of RMB 3 billion has begun construction in Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone. As per the plan, the industry base will have a 1 GW perovskite photovoltaic production line, a 100-ton perovskite quantum dot production line, a R&D innovation center, and a headquarters building. The construction is expected to be completed by 2024 and reach full production capacity by 2027. Once it has achieved full capacity, the output value is expected to touch RMB 2.5 billion ($0.36 billion).
