Daqo 35,000 tons-polysilicon production line put into operation: Leading Chinese polysilicon maker Daqo New Energy announced that a polysilicon project with an annual production capacity of 35,000 tons has been put into operation. The total investment of this project is RMB 4,088 million ($642.06 million).  In July this year, Daqo had announced the share pricing of its principal operating subsidiary Xinjiang Daqo New Energy (see Daqo New Energy Expects To Raise RMB 6.45 Billion With IPO)

Guangzhou invests RMB 8.5 bn for wind-solar-storage project: In an announcement, Guangzhou Development said that its subsidiary, Guangzhou Development New Energy, has signed an investment agreement with the People’s Government of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County. The company will be investing in wind-solar-storage integrated power generation base-project in Luquan, and plans to invest RMB 8.5 billion towards the same. Out of this, distributed photovoltaic power generation projects will be about 800 MW.

CSI Solar & CATL sign battery storage agreement: Canada headquartered Chinese solar power company Canadian Solar said in a release that its subsidiary CSI Solar has signed an agreement with lithium-ion battery producer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL). As per the agreement, CSI Solar and CATL will work together in the areas of battery storage system solutions, supply of lithium-ion battery modules, operation and maintenance services of battery storage projects, and innovative renewable energy technology. Earlier this year, CATL had shown interest in investing in Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment (see China PV News Snippets: Longyuan, Lead, Trina Solar)

China Guangdong to develop new businesses in wind & photovoltaics: Clean energy development company China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation has completed a capital increase contract at the Beijing Equity Exchange. The company has introduced 14 strategic investors, including the National Social Security Fund, and has raised a total of RMB 30.53 billion ($4.78 billion). These funds will be used for the development and construction of wind power and photovoltaic reserve projects, and energy storage projects.
