Arctech to build 120 MW BIPV project: A subsidiary of tracker and mounting system supplier Jiangsu Arctech Solar, Suzhou Arctech New Energy Power Technology and EPC company China Power Construction Group Jiangxi Electric Power Design Institute have signed a rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project. This is Phase 1 of Jiantao Base project in Gaoan City, with a capacity of 120 MW. The project adopts Arctech Solar’s BIPV solution, and has just entered the construction stage. After completion, it is expected to become the BIPV project with the largest single capacity in the world.

JA Solar silicon rod & wafer project put into production: Solar PV panel manufacturer JA Solar announced that its 20 GW monocrystalline silicon rod and 20 GW monocrystalline silicon wafer manufacturing projects at the Qujing base has been put into production. At RMB 5.8 billion ($0.91 billion), this is one of JA Solar’s largest investment in wafer projects. Once operational, the project will generate about 5000 jobs. In June, the company had launched its DeepBlue 3.0 Pro Module with 182mm Wafer Sized Cell & 21.7% Power Conversion Efficiency (see DeepBlue 3.0 Pro New Module Launched By JA Solar)

NEA pegs solar installed capacity at 290 GW: The National Energy Administration (NEA) of China released the national power industry statistics from January to November 2021. By of the end of November, the country’s installed power generation capacity was approximately 2,320 GW, a year-on-year increase of 9%. Among them, the installed capacity of wind power was approximately 300 GW, a year-on-year increase of 29%; while the installed capacity of solar power was approximately 290 GW, a year-on-year increase of 24.1%. Earlier this month, NEA had said that the cumulative installed renewable energy capacity of the country now exceeds 1,000 GW accounting for 43.5% of the national installed energy mix. Solar power contributes over 282 GW to this capacity (see China Exceeds 1,000 GW RE Capacity)

Risen successfully produces 210 modules: Chinese solar panel maker Risen Energy successfully produces 210 modules at Ninghai production base. The production base has a capacity of 8 GW and manufactures 210mm modules, heterojunction, TOPCON and other new products. In June, TaiyangNews had launched its Advanced Solar Modules Conference Report on Panels with G12/210mm Cells during an event where Risen Energy presented its views on benefits of 210mm modules (see Advantages of 210mm Solar Modules Report).
