While Suntech’s 2 GW TOPCon high-efficiency cell smart factory is put into production, Daqo New Energy raises RMB 11 billion for silicon project, Shanghai Tianyang issue shares privately, Zhejiang Chint transfers 311.41 MW household PV, and Shenzhen Bauing signs 3-years deal with EGing PV.

Suntech 2 GW TOPCon factory put into production: The 2 GW TOPCon high-efficiency cell factory of Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer Suntech has been officially put into production, the company announced. This factory adopts the ‘digital smart factory solutions’ based on industrial internet technology, TOPCon smart equipment, and automated production lines based on  atomic layer deposition (ALD) coating and screen-printing technology. The production line is compatible with 182 mm and 210 mm silicon wafers. Last year, VDE in Germany had certified Suntech’s Ultra V Series high-power PV modules with two certificates (see China PV News Snippets: Suntech; EGing; Baofeng)

Daqo New Energy plans to raise RMB 11 billion: High purity polysilicon seller and producer Daqo New Energy announced its plans to  raise no more than RMB 11 billion ($1.74 billion) for a project with an annual output of 100,000 tons of high-purity silicon-based materials. Last month, Daqo New Energy had announced to expand its polysilicon production capacity for solar with another 200,000 MT in Baotou, China (see Daqo’s 200,000 MT Polysilicon For Solar Industry).

Shanghai Tianyang to raise RMB 1.2 bn for PV encapsulant facilities: Solar photovoltaic encapsulant manufacturer Shanghai Tianyang released an announcement that the company plans to issue shares privately, with a total fundraising of up to RMB 1.2 billion ($0.19 billion). The net proceeds after deducting the issuance expenses will be used for the newly built photovoltaic film project of Kunshan Tianyang Photovoltaic Materials Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 150 million square meters; the solar encapsulation film project of Nantong Tianyang Photovoltaic Materials Technology Co., Ltd.; and the Haian Tianyang New Material Technology’s photovoltaic film project with an annual output of 150 million square meters.

CHINT to sell 311.41 MW of household PV assets: Smart energy solutions provider CHINT announced that its holding subsidiary, Zhejiang Chint Anneng Power System Engineering, has transferred a total of 311.41 MW capacity of household photovoltaic power systems in Hebei and Anhui to Power Investment Taiji New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The total transaction is for RMB 1.24 billion ($0.20 billion) (all prices include tax).

Shenzhen Bauing partners with EGing PV: Shenzhen Bauing Construction Group announced that it has signed a 3-year strategic cooperation with solar module manufacturer EGing PV. Both the companies will cooperate in the development, construction, promotion and application of new energy projects including but not limited to distributed solar power plants, ground-mount PV power plants or energy storage.
