Risen Energy to invest RMB 11 billion on expansion: Risen Energy will be investing RMB 11 billion ($1.57 billion) on expanding its high efficiency solar cell and high-efficiency module production capacity by 13 GW each. This 26 GW expansion was announced by the company in Anhui province's Chuzhou region and Zhejiang province's Yiwu region, and also in Malaysia. The company is to launch its high power solar module with up to 660 W output on July 23, 2020.
Trina, LONGi and JA Solar win Datang's module procurement round: China Datang Corporation Ltd. (CDT) has announced the winners of its 5.5 GW module procurement round 2020-2021. The purchase was divided into 5 bidding sections. Among winners, Trina Solar bagged the largest contract for 2.39 GW capacity. It was followed by LONGi staking claim to 1.84 GW and JA Solar to supply modules worth 1.27 GW. The contract is valid for 1-year duration, as reported by local media.

Aiko Solar investing in 5.4 GW crystalline silicon cell fab: Aiko Solar will invest RMB 2.2 billion (RMB 315 million) on expanding its high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell capacity by 5.4 GW. This capacity expansion is being taken up as Tianjin Phase II which along with 3.8 GW under Tianjin Phase II will increase the total solar cell production capacity of Aiko Solar at Tianjin to 9.2 GW. Solar cells produced here will be compatible with silicon wafers of up to 210 mm (M12). Tianjin Phase II is set to come online by the end of December 2020. The company aims for a cumulative production capacity of 45 GW by 2022, as per plans shared previously.
110 MW Fishery-PV demonstration project: China's State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) is to build a fishery-PV demonstration project with 110 MW capacity in Shanghai Chongming Island. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in Chenjia Town on October 30, 2020. On completion, it will generate around 122.335 million kWh. According to Nengke Scenery, the Chongming Photovoltaic Project is the largest single centralized PV power plant in Shanghai.
