Fengyang ultra-thin module glass production line inaugurated: Recently, a ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the second phase of the 200 million m2, ultra-thin coated, double-glass module glass production line of Fengyang Silicon Valley, Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network News stated. This project takes place under Changzhou Almaden Technology Group, the report added. On completion of the production line, the thickness of the glass is expected to decrease the thickness of traditional physical toughened glass and enable the photovoltaic industry to accelerate into a lightweight era.

SDIC 2020 PV power generation at 1.29 billion kWh: An announcement by SDIC Power Holdings Co., Ltd., stated that its domestic holding companies have completed a total of 148 billion kWh of power generation and 144 billion kWh of on-grid power from January to December 2020. Compared with the same period last year, it decreased by 8.55% and 8.13% respectively. If the impact of the transferred projects on the electricity quantity is excluded, the year-on-year increase will be 2.35% and 2.32% respectively. Meanwhile, last year’s photovoltaic power generation touched 1.29 billion kwh, marking an increase of 38.72% year-on-year. The main reason for this increase is the company’s acquisition of multiple photovoltaic projects.

Sunoren 2020 net profit to increase by 80% to 100%: Distributed photovoltaic power stations operator Sunoren Solar released an announcement about its improved performance. The net profit in 2020 is expected to be in between RMB 76 million ($12 million) and RMB 84 million ($13 million), an increase of 80% to 100% year-on-year. The main reason for this expected increase is because the company has been optimizing its business structure and continuously expanding the scale of self-supported distributed photovoltaic power plants.

JinkoSolar’s 1st BIPV carport in China connected to grid: Recently module supplier JinkoSolar announced that its first photovoltaic carport project using Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) products has been connected to the grid in China. The annual power generation output of the carport is expected to exceed 150 MWh and will be meeting the needs of nearly 40 electric vehicles. Marked as a benchmark demonstration project for the commercialization of BIPV products, this project replaces a traditional roof with JinkoSolar’s high-efficiency BIPV products. This attempt will further expand the diversification of BIPV applications, it said..

TaiyangNews Conference to discuss development of commercial solar panels: The 2-days TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Advanced Solar Module Technologies – For Rooftop & Utility Scale Applications will see representatives from world leading solar module manufacturers, including Trina Solar, Risen Energy, LONGi, JinkoSolar, Chint, discussing developments and improvements of commercial solar panels. The focus of Day 1 of the Conference will be on Standardization of High Performance 210mm Modules and its LCOE Advantage.
