Flat Group to raise RMB 2.5 billion: A leading Chinese glass products manufacture, Flat Glass Group released a report stating that the company will be raising RMB 2.5 billion ($0.39 billion) through the non-public issuance of A shares. The net proceeds, after deducting issuance costs, will be used for the second phase of a PV module cover glass production project with an annual output of 750,000 tons and towards a 42 million m2 solar glass output. Recently, Flat Glass had announced the signing of a major contract for photovoltaic rolled glass with JinkoSolar (see China PV News Snippets: CECEP, Luoyang, Jinko, JA)

Hangzhou First net profit to increase by RMB 583 mn: Announcing the annual results for 2020, leading solar module encapsulation producer Hangzhou First said its net profit increased by about RMB 583 million ( 90.23 million). Compared to the same period of the previous year, this is an increase of about 61%. This rise in profit can be attributed to the overall growth of the photovoltaic industry in 2020, according to the company, which already announced record sales last year (see Hangzhou First Reports 2019 Record Sales).

China Huaneng partner with Aba County for a PV projects of nearly 4 GW: The People's Government of Aba County and Huaneng Sichuan Hydropower Co., Ltd. (China Huaneng Group Sichuan Branch) have signed a photovoltaic resource development cooperation agreement for a RMB 15.4 billion ($2.38 billion) worth project. The total installed capacity of the project will be 3.85 GW.

SPIC adds 10.28 GW PV installed capacity in 2020: According to the latest statistics by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) it has added 10.28 GW of solar in 2020, to take it to 29.61 GW of PV generation capacity. Its total installed power generation capacity is at 176 GW, of which 56.09% belongs to clean energy technology. This marks an increase of 5.52% since the beginning of the year.
