GCL Energy complete 5.6 GW of solar assets, eyes hydrogen: GCL New Energy recently announced the completion of solar power plant assets with a total capacity of over 5.6 GW. The power arm of Chinese vertically integrated PV group GCL also emphasized that in the future, apart from focusing on solar power generation business, it will actively focus on other clean energy businesses too. Towards this, the company announced the establishment of a hydrogen energy business unit as it believes that Hydrogen Energy will soon be an important solution for decarbonization, which is also a top priority for the company.

China FV partners with Dangyang for PV production base: Energy technology service company China FV Group announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with People’s Government of Dangyang City for investment in PV. Both the parties have also joined forces with Jiangsu Zhongqing SDIC Industrial Development Group Co., Ltd., which is a large manufacturing group that belongs to the Yangtze River Delta. They have signed a total of five projects with a total investment of RMB 6.47 billion ($1 billion) spanning across equipment manufacturing, new energy, and new materials.

Autowell wins bid for 5.2 GW JinkoSolar construction project: PV production equipment manufacturer Autowell Technology announced that it has won the bid for module producer JinkoSolar’s (Chuzhou) Workshop Phase II 5.2 GW New Project. The bid amount is about RMB 110 million ($17.02 million). However, the specific amount is subject to the officially signed contract, which is yet to take place. The project will be delivered in batches from 2021. In June 2021, Autowell had raised RMB 550 mn for R&D (see China PV News Snippets: Xinyi, Zhongli, Autowell, Flat Glass)

JinkoSolar and TJAD join hands for BIPV: In another announcement, JinkoSolar said that it has joined hands with design & consulting group Tongji Architectural Design (TJAD). Both parties will cooperate in the field of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), integrating JinkoSolar’s BIPV technology and products with TJAD’s zero carbon design concept for modern buildings to promote the development of PV building integration.
